Go to a different doctor maybe? Sorry that’s the only advice I have to give.

MrsCbee:  my lines didnt get darker either and im currently 32 weeks along.

if you really want a blood test, either go to your regular physician and request one or find a different OB

Why do you keep peeing? You have a positive – congratulations you are pregnant!!! Yay! I hope it sticks for you and I don’t want to be harsh but if it doesn’t stick no amount of positive lines on sticks getting darker will stop that happening, nor would a positive blood test today. Try to relax! ๐Ÿ™‚

As for no blood work – what about the rest of the blood tests other than hcg? I had a long list that is standard here (going to GP in Australia): including full blood count, ferritin (iron), vitamin D, blood group and antibodies, random blood glucose, thyroid etc etc. Plus urine test for bacteria. Will they do those when you go in June or what?

MrsCbee:  my advice is stress can only hurt, and stressing about it won’t change anything. So try your hardest to breathe, and just remember you need to be less stressed for you and baby’s health.  You can try to see if you can get your regular dr to do blood work.  Otherwise my advice is you have a BFP so stop POAS immediately!!

MrsCbee:  When I got 1 positive pregnancy test my doctor made an appointment for me about 3 weeks later and didn’t do blood work either.. so I just waited it out ๐Ÿ™‚ Now I’m 5 months along. Forget about POAS.. it’s a waste of time. You’re pregnant, congratulations ๐Ÿ™‚ No amount of peeing on a stick is going to make any difference to anything at this point.

Hmm… which country are you in? In some countries, it’s totally normal not to have a single blood  test, urine test, or any appointment offering health advice etc until 12 weeks.

However, if you’re in a country where it’s the norm to have blood tests etc earlier, would it be possible to get a referral of some sort?

MrsCbee:  put down the pee sticks mama! Hcg doubles in 48hr so even one day to the next doesn’t show much! If you really want to keep tabs on things try a weekly digital weeks counter (but again some peoples hug rises slowly as their norm so that might cause unecessary worry!) I’ve seen some posts on here about ordering your own hcg labs so maybe search for those if it interests you? Chances are good everything is just fine! These first weeks are exciting and scary,  hang in there mama!

You just tested positive, it takes a while for the hcg to rise enough to show a significant difference in the line and once they get to a certain point they might not get any darker. Stop peeing on sticks, you’ll drive yourself insane!

MrsCbee:  You aren’t crazy.  I did the same thing because I had a ton of cheapies that were soon to expire.  Mine didn’t get that much darker either, and they didn’t start out very dark.  That means nothing.  I’m still pregnant (now 17 weeks!).

MrsCbee:  Thhis happened to me. at day 3 of poas i quit. As the PP’s said. 2-3 days doesnt make a difference that you can really see! My lines were still light. So, I waited like 5 days and decided to take the last one i had. The test line was so dark that you could barely see the control line! Hope this makes you worry less mama! ๐Ÿ™‚
