- Wedding: September 2014 - Manhattan Church Rec Center
It is so far away! I can’t do anything for real except Pin and research…which is getting me no where. The reception venue I want is in the middle of reconstruction and now I our ceremony guest list is over the max occupency for the site I want so I have to poke around for another spot that speaks to us.
I went dress “looking” with my Mom, Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man and found a design that spoke to me.
We got my mom’s dress proffessionally cleaned and restored & have decided to wear her veil after changing the fastener to a comb.
I made Save-The-Date Cards and RSVP postcards on Vistaprint and ordered them (because I had a Groupon), but realized that I won’t be able to use the RSVPs because Fiance and I may move and our address will change. I can’t even send the Save-The-Date Cards out until Sept of THIS YEAR!
I am so far ahead of the game I am stuck now…which is probably a good thing because my real life is about to get super crazy.
But I want to look at Bridesmaids dresses. i want to take my girls dress shopping.
What I WAS able to do was select some designes I liked on the DB website and save them to my favorites. All these dresses come in the same color and run between $50-$175 so there will be a design and price for each of my girls.
I kinda overloaded my Fiance early on becuase I got so excited (and am so freaking happy we are getting married), so he want’s me to cool it with the planning until at least May.
I can’t wait for spring!!!
- Romantic walk in the park with my Fiance to pick our for real ceremony site.
- Reception Venue scouting with my mom
- Shopping for Bridesmaids dresses!
- Bridal Gown consultations with dressmaker (custom job)
I guess the only thing I can do now is SAVE.
Where are you guys in your proccess?

What about researching budgeting options and saving as much as you can? You can also start looking into photographers since they open up the next year’s bookings early and if you negotiate with your fav photographer, you might be able to lock in 2013 pricing for 2014!

- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
You should also start searching for a photographer and DJ/band

@Sapphire-Dreamer: we share a date! lol
We have already booked our venue, caterer and photographer since they are all already booking for fall 2014.
I’ve already ordered my bouquets (they are handmade brooch bouquets/boutounieres ets so they will take her about 9 months or so to make)
Now I am just sitting back and relaxing a bit (FI is in charge of the DJ and we have a ton of options there) and working on saving money.

The very first thing I did was book our photographer! That was the most important thing to me.
Then we found our venue (after much ado and having to wait until March to book because their office was closed from November – March)
Now we have our DJ and I have my wedding dress. I went bridesmaid dress shopping a couple weeks ago and found a style we want to get and order.
THAT’S ABOUT ALL I CAN DO!
We took our engagements already, but I don’t want to start making save the dates because I found out that you don’t send them until at least a 8 months before the wedding.
And my DOC keeps telling me to wait until probably January of next year to nail down decoration ideas permanently because “You’re so far away from your wedding date that you’ll change your mind constantly”
