So sorry your finger will be naked but ohhhh how its going to be so worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would get a stunt double just because you can & it will be fun/take away that naked feeling. It doesn’t have to have any stones, it could be a plain tungsten or silver band!

Aww.  It’ll go by quickly.  Your ring will be back before ya know it!  I looked at the thread with the stone….GORGEOUS!  Wow.  I am liking OECs more and more everytime I see one.  Can’t wait to see pics of yours when it’s set!

A couple of weeks ago my e-ring needed a minor repair and I was without it for only two days and really missed it.  I wore my mother’s pearl ring instead, but it wasn’t the same.  I was very glad to have it back!  I feel for you.

I’m right there with you. My Fiance proposed this week and I haven’t been able to wear my ring out of the house yet b/c it’s 2 sizes too big and we’re scared I’ll lose it. And I haven’t had time to find a ring guard.

We’re going to get it resized this weekend. Do they do that on the spot? If not I’ll be going even longer without wearing it.

I do have a stunt double though, so that I’ll feel engaged, haha. I just moved my RHR to my left hand ๐Ÿ™‚

I only had my ring for a couple of days before having to surrender it to a local jeweler for re-sizing! It had to go down 1.5 sizes and because of the metal and finish, took extra long (5 days in total). I called them as soon as the “minimum” estimated time they gave me was over.. I’m sure they thought I was crazy!

If you don’t have time to shop for a stunt double, I had a friend who did the cute thing of using a hairtie as a ring stand-in.

@Reign14: I’ve heard of jewelers being able to do it on the spot, depends on the complexity of the band since they have to buff and refinish the ring after snipping out the excess metal. Make sure you find a jeweler with an on-site workshop for speedier turnaround.

@mswizard:  Wow that is awesome! May I ask, what drew you towards getting an OEC stone? I’ve always wanted a vintage ring, and most do have OEC stones already, so I never spent much time researching diamond cuts. I’m guessing most people these days prefer ideal cuts or brilliant or cushion. What do you love most about OEC?

I lost my wedding set back in January, so I’ve been ringless while I searched for the replacement. I finally decided on one, but it’s a custom design. I’m ringless for another 3-4 weeks while they make mine =(. I finally got a stand-in CZ for twenty bucks, and I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. It’s certainly not the same, but it cured the naked feeling. I was lucky to find a stand-in that is very similar to my new set, and I’m actually quite fond of it. lol

A couple weeks ago, we went to Jared (who did our custom e-rings) to design & order our bands. Since the bands need to be contoured, our jewler said she needed to send an e-ring with the order so the designers could make a perfect fit. I volunteered mine since I’ve had it over a year and a half & Ellie’s only had hers for 5 months.

Luckily, I have another ring that fits, but it’s a much different weight and the aquamarine stone doesn’t quite have the same oompf that my sapphire & diamonds do. I’m looking at a minimum of 6 weeks until I get mine back. I hope you get yours back soon!

Oh, I know the feeling! I had to give up my ring for a couple of months at at the end of last year ๐Ÿ™ It’s not a pleasant feeling, but at least it will be worth it! ๐Ÿ™‚

Im glad we never had to have it sized since I went ring shopping plenty. A stand in is so nice. Fiance wears a band on his finger now and were not even married yet. He says it just feels more comfortable.
