That happened to me-loose diamond 2 days after my fiancé gave me my ring (It wasn’t zales). I complained that 2-3 weeks was too long), but they wouldn’t compromise. I called their other store in our area, and they said they’d do it in 30 minutes. Do you have another store in your area? Did you ask if the jeweler comes in the store?

I would get insurance that would cover your ring in case you lose a stone-and then take it somewhere else.

Anyone who I have talked to said they waited about 20 min for it to get done righ there….kinda wierd…but ya gotta do what ya gotta do I suppose…

Let Zales do it. I know you don’t want to leave the ring, but if you bought it from them why go messing with the warranty on it? A little advice though, for your anniversary ring, go to Jareds they have the whole workshop on site and the coolest thing about them is that you get to stand/sit right at the glass window and watch them work on it. I’m taking mine back next week to have the head removed and exchanged out with a much lower head and I was told that, 1- it will be free to replace a platinum head and 2- It will only take 2 hours to take the ring completely apart and redesigned. Good luck to you and do not void that warranty!

Let Zales do what they do and think about getting a “Fake ering” I have one that I wear to the gym in fear of my ring flying off during jumping jacks and landing under some huge muscle guy that slams down a 200 pound weight bar.
Okay that would probably never happen but it feels nice to have something on your finger while your real ering is undergoing surgery.

keep the warrenty, the economy is still going up diamonds are gonna get expensive very soon. if you lose the big diamond its gonna cost you more than just a pretty penny… take it from me im a jeweler

I would let Zales handle it. Perhaps you can purchase an inexpensive stand in ring to wear in the meantime.

I can relate, my ring is also from Zales. In October it had a loose prong, and took 4 days.
Apparently now they send it out to a company to be fixed by a laser. It is apparently much better for the ring. I had to send it out again and it took about 10 days.
