Sorry if this is a long post. I have had somewhat irregular cycles since going of bc in January but the last few months I thought I was headed more towards normal.
I thought I may have ovulated either the 6th or 7th of August. I use opks but never got a true positive on my digital. I also has ewcm days leading up to this. Figuring I just didn’t time my tests right I assumed thats when I was ovuating.
Now, I am 16(ish) dpo and on cd 38, took a test, bfn. I also took an opk today because I have been having lots of watery cm. I got a TRUE positive on both wondofo and my digital opk. Do you think I am actually ovulating now?
I have read in a few places that you can get an lh surge before af too. Recently I have been having tender breasts from ovulation until af but not this cycle…no other symptoms! I guess we will bd tonight and tomorrow just to be safe too.

bizzyteacher20 : I’m not an expert by any means and I’m not sure about the lh surge before AF. I would say there’s a good chance that you are going to O soon if you got a positive reading on the opk especially because you have watery cm.
That said, opks haven’t really worked too well for me and I know opks don’t work for all women because of hormonal imbalances. Do you have a history or irregular periods before you went on BC?
Also, are you temping? That’s really the only way to know if you’ve Oed.

Sounds like delayed ovulation to me. I would keep BDing!

citysparkle : Thanks for your response! I am wondering if I have some sort of imbalance but haven’t really addressed it yet with my dr. I was on bc for almost the past 8 years straight and I had originally went on it because my cycles were kind of crazy.
I was temping and then stopped because my dr. said it will just make me crazy. I am thinking about starting again though.

bizzyteacher20 : I never took birth control for an extended period of time, but I think it can take a while for your body to regulate itself once you stop taking it. So, that could be the problem. Also, lots of things can cause you to ovulate later like traveling and stress. It doesn’t necessarily mean you have a hormonal imbalance. Good luck!
