My fiance and I met over 6 years ago when we created a band together. Our first conversation was through email, when I auditioned to sing by sending him my acoustic-ballad version of Paramore’s My Heart. Since then we have toured the country, created our own recording business, and have even opened for Paramore.
When it came to what song we would dance to, I brought up the idea of maybe recording us singing to the piano version, and we would change the lyrics;
“Sing me a song,
And I’ll sing it back to you
I could sing my own
But what would it be without you?”
It’s just so perfect for us!! That’s not all!
My dad is a guitarist as well. Like, straight out of the 80’s guitarist. We had the idea of starting off our father daughter dance to Aerosmith’s “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”, but halfway through, a record scratches and he will throw on a guitar and we will kick in to “Walk This Way” and I’ll sing 🙂
Sorry, I’m just so excited I had to post about it. And I don’t want to tell all my friends because then it gives the suprise away! Here is what the piano version of the Paramore song sounds like if you are interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTG-BbQewBs

- Wedding: February 2015 - Chapel on Base
That sounds so cool. I would love a performance like that.

That sounds awesome.
One thing: I would make sure Hayley and Jeremy are ok with your plan. Artists can get touchy about their songs and the music industry is pretty small. If you toured with them, someone should know how to ask them as a courtesy.

Consultette: if she’s not going to be profiting from it I think it’s fair use.

Yak: Generally I’d agree, however if they own a recording business it should probably be a courtesy. Especially since there should be a way to ask (and I suspect they will say absolutely).

Consultette: We aren’t in direct contact but we plan on telling them our story and asking just to be curtious. They commonly support covers though and even share the really good ones on their social media, so I’m not worried!

AddieNicole: That should be perfect! I used to bump into them almost 10 years ago when my ex was in a band that played a lot of the same shows. If they are still just as great, I know they would be super flattered. I wish I was still in contact with him since he could have asked directly.
I think I may know what band you are talking about (my Fiance is from Phoenix and we used to go to a lot of shows there). If so, you have a wonderful voice and I know you will absolutely kill it!

AddieNicole: thats a great idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my sisters wedding had a similar plan, her husband was gona ‘dance’ for her when he was taking off the garter, little did she know my moms Boyfriend or Best Friend came out dressed in the gangnam styles suit and the music scratched and that song came on [ she was obsessed with it at the time] and there are so many great photos of her and her husband doing the dance together!
I think you singing that song would sound fantastic i love that song! You would do a fabulous job!!!!
What else have you planned?!? 😛 Tehehehe
!!!
!!! <3
