Yoga! I had fallen of the wagon for a few months and just went back today. I really forgot how great yoga is for keeping me sane & peaceful. Not only did I get a good workout, but it’s a great reminder to surrender to situations that you can’t control (ahem, waiting!). My yoga teacher likes to talk about how the pain that you feel when holding a position is only a temporary sensation, you just need to accept it and surrender to it because it will be over soon. The advice felt really relevent to where I am emotionally right now with the waiting process.
So fellow waiting bees, what helps keep you sane? I’d love to share some tips & stories with eachother for a more positive thread

I’ve tried Yoga on my P90x….I’m starting to like it 🙂
Music 🙂 it truly helps keeps me sane! I turn on the music…I listen to the beat…my little dancer dances around in my head with some funky hip hop moves LOL….But seriously what ever mood I’m in music always helps me out! It calms me down and sometimes makes me realize that there are other people out there who are feeling the same way I am or even worse.
And if I want to feel even better I’ll just get up and dance 🙂

@EmmyGirl: a “positive” thread is a great idea. I’ve tried to start a few light-hearted/funny ones lately that didnt really take off.
I have several things that keep me sane:
-baking: pastry is one of my two “other” jobs, but I truly love it. Boyfriend or Best Friend doesnt so much, as he is trying to get back into shape for summer 🙂
-drawing: I’m trying to draw every day, or at least start a sketch I can paint later.
-food: no, not the preparation of, but consumption :-p I know it’s not the best habit to be in, but eating lately has been a good outlet for my nerves.

Ooh I like this!
For me, other than throwing myself into this final placement, playing squash (even if I never win, damn you MrWigeon!) and going to pub quiz are my two ‘hobbies’ that tie me over with some fun!
Also weirdly, filing… if I have a good organising sesh and a tidy up I feel like I can do anything 😛
@badabing88: haha I totally understand the eating thing!

@sinfulli2sweet: I have a terrible habit of playing sad music when I’m sad. Then it just makes me more sad LOL. I need to make a happy party playlist and just force myself to rock out next time I’m feeling down. Thanks for the inspiration!
Oh girl, I feel ya on the food thing haha! We have had some very dreary weather here lately and sometimes nothing is better than a big hot plate of yummy food. Especially if there’s cheese involved
I had to laugh at your organizing thing. For some reason I love to clean when I’m really pissed off. It’s sort of cleansing and a good way to keep your hands busy.

Thankful for supportive friends. My sorority sister just eloped and promised to let me call her at any time as I go through this waiting phahave even though she’s in SC and I’m in NY I’m so thankful to have been included in her impromptu wedding and to have her support.

@badabing88: I love me some food! I’m a bit of a foodie, so I just love flavors & food. & during certain times I want comfort food and chocolate like no other!!
I use weddingbee and you ladies as an outlet…& PINTEREST!! I spend hours mindlessly pinning 🙂

I’m finishing up the last two weeks of my Master’s thesis, and I’ve been so crazy stressed lately that I haven’t had anything fun in my life to take my mind off of things… 🙁 I am looking forward to summer though! Just warm weather and sunshine and suntans. And hopefully getting to go visit my BFF!
