Oh no, that sucks! I would be very upset too!

Call that doc ASAP and tell them what happened!

I had the same lumps for years. They were really painful. After seeing docs and having it tests it turned it was because I picked my scalp. It was a gross nervous habit but I always had a scab in my hair where I picked – top of head, not near the lumps. Doc said they were due to my body always having to fight off infection on my head. As soon as I stopped picking they went away. For reference they were only little scabs… Not great big gaping holes in my head, so I was dubious that they could cause suchIan issue.

If by any chance you have a nervous picking habit… Stop picking!

Sorry this tale is a bit gross but it was a simple fix to a painful problem that had me worried for months so just thougt it was worth sharing …

I want to cry FOR you.  I am so, SO sorry you’re going through this.  Just the surgery alone sounds painful and pretty awful, but the fact that he removed the wrong one?!  Oh my gosh, I can’t even imagine how upset I’d be.  I’m so sorry.  Definitely call the doctor ASAP.  That is so sh!tty!!! *hugs*

i’m so sorry you’re in so much pain, girl! 🙁 is it feeling better today?

and sorry that this all sounds so confusing. 🙁

hopefully when you talk to him, he will be a decent human being and take time to either

a) explain to you why he did what he did on purpose, or

b) be humble enough to be open to correction (and to give appropriate courtesy to you such as not making you pay) if he did in fact just make a baaad mistake.

keep us posted! hugs.

I work in healthcare and you should not have to pay for that – neither should your insurance company. He needs to rectify the situation and remove the correct lump – also without charge.  What a freaking idiot! I know you say you’re not upset at the doctor but this is a bigger deal than you think. What if he amputated the wrong leg?!  Maybe it’s just because I work in patient safety but man this stuff pisses me off so bad!  Great doctors don’t remove the wrong things!

@ChuckNorris:  Totally not crazy. No one wants to have bits of their person removed, let alone bits of their person that don’t need to be removed. Bah.
