@ChuckNorris:  You can CERTAINLY argue with his medical opinion!!!  Are you kidding me?  You went in and asked for Bump 1 to be removed.  He said ok, scheduled you for surgery and then decided to remove Bump 2 and never told you????  He made a mistake and he’s trying to cover up for it.  A really good doctor would have told you after, “Once I went in, I saw one that was way bigger and had to be removed.  I had to remove it first, but we can still remove the other one after the swelling has gone done.”  He’s lying and covering it up.  Please, please see a lawyer to help you see what your rights are!!

@ChuckNorris:  I think they need to remove the right lump. This was a surgical mistake. They’re common. They should fix it.

Request your medical records and see if there is a way that you can ascertain what they were supposed to do. My guess is that they are covering up because now they can charge you twice. I worked for a vet once that kind of did that, botched a declaw and when the owners came back complaining about the bump, diagnosed a tumor and charged them to do a second surgery. Sketchy…

You probably want to consult with a lawyer. You know your body better than any doctor.

PS – if you are in the US, your doctor can NOT say something like, “I thought you would have wanted…”. If you are under or incapacitated and unable to make a decision during surgery, unless it is a life-threatening issue they need to get you up and ASK YOU ABOUT IT before they do it. Seriously. They don’t decide for you. You decide.

@ChuckNorris:  maybe you could go meet a lawyer with your husband, just to explore your options. He might be swayed by what a “professional” has to say.

@fallsgirl:  i am late to following up on this thread but. . . from what ChuckNorris has posted on here, I *absolutely* agree with your post.

Chuck, I tend to try to avoid legal battles in medicine, but at the very least, he should be performing the second procedure for free. unless you are leaving some huge detail out of the story!

that’s the only downside of going to a different doc. . .you are going to have to pay twice.

whereas, I’m pretty sure you could convince this guy to do the second one free.

and, btw,  I actually would much rather have an ENT remove my lymph node, than a derm. i know the first time around, it went badly but what are the chances he’ll screw up again?!

anyway, crappy situation. sorry to hear it. 🙁

You poor thing! I am so sorry this happened to you!!  He needs to make it right!  I would leave a message for him to personally call you back so you can discuss this with him instead of going through the MA.  (((hugs)))

@ChuckNorris:  *HUGS* I’d definitely get a second doctor to look at it.  I hope you get this fixed and start feeling better soon.

What the hell?! I would be talking to a lawyer and never seeing him again. He’s either incompetent or an arrogant asshole, and neither is someone I want removing anything from my body.
