That is awesome!

I’m contemplating making the same offer for some photographers to come to Maui with me…it’s just so hard to choose someone on the Internet only!

Nice!! I did this as well πŸ™‚ I got my photos for $900 which is flights and hotel and they are absolutely amazing!! Way out of my price range but luckily they wanted to travel to New Orleans! I would have had to pay around 3 to 4 thousand to get the type of pics I wanted!

The owner of Savor Photography likes to travel and may be interested in something like this. We talked to her about coming to Haiti for our wedding, but we’re on such a tight budget that airfare and accomodations for 2 nights just wasn’t in our budget. She is a fabulous photog.

Congratulations!!! That is a major feat! And it is so exciting to have someone whose work you really know and love shoot your photos. This is hard to pull off for a destination wedding!!

I am so excited for you!

That is great!  You just may want to checkw ith someone down there and make sure they are ok with you bringing your own photog.  I’m getting married in Turks & Caicos and was told sometimes customs doesn’t allow outside vendors through bc they are taking jobs away from citizens.  i would hate to have this happen to you so you may just want to double check.

Way to go! I worked out a similar deal for my Costa Rica wedding. I’m paying $1,000 and she’s covering travel and making a vacation of it! She needs destination weddings on her blog, and I need a good photographer, so it works out for everyone!

amazing!!  and i know how that feels, i got something similar – i took a wild shot in the dark emailing my photog just to see what her prices were and to tell myself i can’t afford her (she was my top choice from looking online at Destination Wedding photogs).  and like you, i was planning to hire someone i found in Jamaica for $1500 that was ok looking.  well, my top choice wrote me back and said she was booked for another wedding already in Jamaica the day after mine! so she offered to waive her travel fees.   she was still charging $2500 so i said i couldnt afford her as i couldn’t go over $1500 – then she writes back and said she will meet my budget of $1500!!! and she dropped her TTD from $600 to $350 (cost of what i found most Jamaican photogs charged)!

so i TOTALLY get  how you feel right now!  and it is a 2-way deal. they get this awesomely gorgeous wedding on their portfolio in addition to a vacation!!!

how smart of you to even ask for that deal though, in my case, i felt like i won the lottery (like i didn’t do anything, it just fell into my lap as she offered everyything to me).
