My Fiance purchased my ring from there because of their warrenty , multiple locations and his brothers recommended them. They were wrong LOL. After a long 3 1/2 months of non-sense with my ring I now have a “credit” there to make a new choice. I would much rather take my business elsewhere but at this time that is not an option. OK so my questions are
1. Has anyone bought their center stone from there and did you have a good/bad experience.
2. If I purchase a setting from there and the center stone elsewhere what do they charge to set it. Thanks in advance!

My wedding band and e ring and other jewelry from earrings to a necklace are all from Jared. And I have NEVER had a problem with them.

We purchased my e-ring from Jared, and will probably use them for my custom wedding bands. If you want a nice diamond, do not go with something that has already been set. Talk to them about the diamond specs that you want, and go with something that has a GIA certificate. My marquise is a solitaire, so there’s not a whole lot that could have gone wrong, but we made some pretty specific changes (platinum head, euro shank) and they had it ready for us in about a week. I would think that they would set a diamond that you bought from somewhere else, but they will charge you for it.
We’ve always had great customer service, and Fiance bought me a 3ct diamond bracelet from our local store at Christmas a couple of years ago, and I bought him a Tag watch, and we’ve always had good luck. Sorry you’re not getting good customer service. Perhaps call the head office or something?

@Mrs Canuck: I am thankful you’ve had a great experience and after working directly with customer care and a new sales representative , I am thinking I may have great things to say soon! I went just now and looked at options and I am beginning to think that there is hope 🙂 I am even considering purchasing Fiance’s band from there, talk about a 180!

I had sapphire earrings and a ring made at Jared’s from loose stones that I had previously bought. They turned out pretty well. The only thing I noticed was that where they resized the ring, you could see the cut they made in it, whereas when my diamond ring was resized from hanoush, you could not tell anything had been done. I had the stone on that same ring replaced at hanoush with a nicer quality sapphire, and then appraised. It did appraise at a much higher price than what I had paid for it total, so guess I got a good deal at Jared’s though!

I bought a RHR from there and promptly had 2 sidestones fall out of the setting… I went in totally pissed and asked for the manager and was treated so well after that. No problems with the ring since then and I wear it daily (and it’s been 5 years now). I recommend asking to deal with a manager from the start because I wasn’t impressed with the several associates I dealt with before the manager lol.

My stone and setting are from Jared. Most of the settings I’ve had have been from there. I love my Jared location, know all the staff, and have never had a problem (other than minor repairs). The couple of times something has gone wrong, they have been more than willing to correct the issue. I think that it varies from location to location though. The store is only as good as the people who work there. They do have a good selection though. If the stone fits in the head of the setting already and they dont have to put a new head on it, i believe it’s somewhere between $40-$60. Good luck!
