Hello everyone. I have decided to wear my country’s traditional clothes. I am from Indonesia.
It’s called kebaya.
There are a lot of types of kebaya, but I opted for a simple, traditional, no-train kebaya.
What do you think? Do you, as some who probably doesn’t see this outfit everyday, think it looks weird?
My hairstyle will be simpler and more modern.

I like it! I would never say that someone’s traditional clothing is weird. It’s one thing to say it is different, but another thing to say weird!

That is GORGEOUS! I love when people chose to do something important to their culture in their wedding, those are incredible and so unique!

Wow, I second Chasesgirl – That is gorgeous!!! I would never think it was weird for someone to honour their traditions at their wedding. Please post pics when you pick out your kebaya!

I think that’s beautiful!

Fantastic and gorgeous! Do it!

Beautiful!! It looks so amazing!! I wish I had something other than English/Scottish heritage to get me away from the normal white, poofy dress.
Please post pics when you pick out your kebaya – I think they are gorgeous! 🙂

I second the PPs, that’s beautiful and not weird in the least! To me, cultural does not = weird.

I think it’s beautiful. And no, not weird at all!

I absolutely love it when I see people wear their culture’s clothing. It’s not weird at all. It’s interesting and beautiful!

Love it!!!!! I’m wearing two dresses on my wedding day! One will be the traditional north american white wedding dress for my ceremony, and the other will be the traditional chinese red cheongsam for the reception! Celebrating who you are and where you came from is awesome and will never be weird in my book.

It’s absolutely beautiful! I think it looks unusual, of course, but in a very very good way.

Thanks everyone. 🙂
It’s just that a lot of Indonesian brides choose to wear a white dress. I love white wedding dress, it’s just that I think kebaya represent myself more, not to mention it flatters my figure bette. 😉
@Natto: Oh I looove cheong sam! I was thinking of getting two dresses, but my wedding will be a simple one so wearing two dresses will be too much for me.
