All thanks to my So’s big mouth.
My SO and I play Magic:The Gathering. If you haven’t heard of it, it is a geeky card game and we both play competitively. We met when I worked in a card shop, and the first time we “got together” was at a tournament in Atlanta.
I made a promise to him months ago that if he skipped going to so many tournaments to be more responsible financially, we could go back to Atlanta this year for the big tournament. Stupid me thought the Atlanta tournament was again in September, but it was moved to the first week of April this year. Since I made this promise, and he upheld his end, I have to uphold mine. I’m a bit peeved because I’ve been too busy with school to practice, but alas, it is happening.
He mentioned the other night that he thought it would be cute to propose where we first started dating. Well, that is just a few weeks away. He stupidly realized he gave the proposal away, and left me laughing.
The tournament is on Saturday and he mentioned us going to the Georgia Aquarium on Sunday.
All of this has left me feeling it is going to happen then. I’m a bit sad because it will be hard to be surprised about it.
My SO and his big mouth…

This definitely sounds promising! Although it may not be a complete surprise, I’m sure it will be just as special. Plus, you can plan to wear a cute outfit and have a manicure just in case. Good luck!

This title line made me LOL.. I just thought of a baby coming, or a poo XD
Not to laugh at your misery. I accidentally found out about my proposal, which was kind of funny. I just look at it as a good story to tell at the wedding dinner. In the end being engaged was SO exciting I got over the proposal being less than thrilling.

@sablemuse: I’m more concerned that my SO will be disappointed that it is less than “surprising”. I can’t lie to him. I can’t fake anything.
How did you find out?
@gingerspice: It will always be special. I painted my nails for the first time in years the other day!

@MissFemmeFatale: My fiance logged into his gmail from my computer and forgot to log out. Typical male behavior. My computer is usually logged into my gmail, so any time I type “gmail.com” my inbox automatically pops up. I was at work with a coworker friend of mine at the time and he asked me about something that required me to check my inbox. I found a strange looking email from a friend of my Fiance that was forwarded from a socialite friend of hers. Basically she was asking this friend for a dinner recommendation in Atlanta (where Fiance and I were going on a get away the following weekend) for a friend of hers that was going to propose to his girlfriend. I about DIED. My coworker who was leaning over my shoulder was squealing with me, we were hugging and “OH.MY.GOD.” -ing and jumping up and down, it was the funniest thing. I was kind of pissed that it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore, because I LOVE surprises, but it’s not like I knew exactly when or where it was happening (he ended up doing it in the hotel room before dinner.) I never told him (he still doesn’t know that I knew, which is amusing) and I just reasoned that I will bust out with the story at the wedding and get a few laughs.
By the way we went to the GA Aquarium the next day, and we bought a souvenir picture to remember to occasion. It was so soothing being able to tour the Aquarium and talk our nerves away.
Just be happy and stay positive. He is probably nervous as hell.
