Yes it was my first time setting my own stone. Since my stone is a pear shape, it was a bit of a challenge to set, but not too bad. I just bought a pre-notched setting for like 5 dollars off of ebay and a pair of ring pliers from a craft store. I really like the stone, it’s actually quite shiny and the color is very nice. This might become a bad habit for me. I now have another stone on the way. lol

meien :  It’s such a fun hobby…….and think gifts too!  Especially pendants, they have those settings too.

I wish I could find out how to bezel set into bracelets.  I would love to have some of these stones in a bracelet.  Not sure I would be up to that level though, I don’t know how they set bezels.

Your ring is just lovely!!!!!!!

meliamartinez31 :  this is the MoCo chart (It’s not universal though), which is what I go by. Looks like 7×5 or somewhere around  there is what you’re after!

juliensmommy :  thank you so much 😊

I have been eyeing a few stones but I let a couple go because I was unsure about being able to set them easily so I will definitely make use of this chart!

I was also a bit nervous because I have heard moissanite tends to run a tad bit bigger so I was looking at  a 1.5 but I was thinking I wonder if it will look closer to a 2 Ct diamond..

Honestly some of the stones were so cheap it wouldn’t have mattered but I was put off by the seller because when I asked for the mm he said it was as stated but unfortunately they had no mm just a Ct weight oh well I will continue the hunt 😜

dkata81 :  that one was from diamondtreasure.  I actually ordered another from solitairegems7 and it’s also too big, the listing said 6.25mm but I measured and it’s actually closer to 7mm – which sucks… but it’s a weird color anyway so at least it wasn’t super pretty and then I couldn’t use it haha

Oh man so I go on eBay to look for the emerald cut I want and I ended up with 2 rounds 1 is a grey which I am super excited about and an off white round which as I have seen can been any kind of off color blue yellow and anything between πŸ˜‚

The off white was 7.50 and the grey was 3.50!1 is a 6mm and the other is a 7 mm

all in all I’m pretty excited to start the hunt for settings!!
