So, we’re planning a halloween wedding for 2013, venue chosen. Anyway- I was on Ebay a few weeks ago.. drinking wine, browsing dresses when this beautiful Watters Yuma dress in my size showed that it was ending in 15 minutes. I bid on it thinking “What the hell! If I hate it, I can sell it..”
Well, I ended up winning! It was a $2400 dress WITH tags and I won it with a $116 dollar bid!! I was floored. So, it came in and I had very low expectations. These are the pictures of me..at work, minus spanx!, wrinkled mess fresh out of a fedex box..
I LOVE IT! Now, my best friend says that I completely robbed myself of the “dress experience” by not visitng a bridal salon. But, if you knew me, this is totally “me”. I love a bargain, I am non-traditional, plus I don’t have $2400 for a dress. That’s half my budget! The dress is absolutely beautiful in person and with a few alterations, it’ll be perfect.
Anyway, wanted to share my experience 🙂
Also, I played around with photoshop.. For a halloween wedding, what do you think about adding a black sash and black beading (there is white/silver beading in the center of the flower right now)

That looks so beautiful on you!! Good for you for getting a deal!
Re: your friend’s comment, maybe she’s just bummed she didn’t get to shop with you. BUT every little thing about the wedding and the planning is so hyped up that everything has to be an “experience” that people lose their minds.

That is soo awesome, what a find! You’ve got me searching in ebay now, I didn’t even realize they sell dresses on there haha, makes sense though
And it looks great on you, it doesnt even look like you need alterations.
If you don’t mind me asking, how did you know what size to order if you haven’t been to a bridal salon to try on the wedding dress sizes? I know they say your street size plus 1 or 2, is that what you went with?

I’m a street size 6. The dress was a 10 and the measurements in the ad were really off. I have a 27″ waist but in the listing it said the dress was a 30″ waist. So, I’d probably go up 2 sizes if I were you. Better to be a little big than too small. 🙂
