I’m so excited I could explode, and I dont want to go around showing pictures of my dress to all my friends and family, but it’s sooo hard to keep it to myself!! So, here we are. Lol! It’s a Bliss by Monique Lhuillier gown that I scored at a sample sale for 70% off. It’s a little early for me to get a dress, but I couldn’t resist the deal! I’m going to tweak it a bit to add character – the plan is to remove a layer or two of tulle from the skirt (I feel a little like a Siamese fighting fish, lol), add illusion tulle “straps”, insert cups, and sew some beading into the lace. Has anyone experienced those types of alterations before? How’d it turn out? Thanks for letting me share Bees!!

sauve2015: You look stunning in that dress! I have zero experience with alterations, but I think your dress looks great as is, and would maybe consider adding a belt with a little bling on it to add some pizzaz if you like! I know belts are kind of the trend right now- but they add so much elegance with so much ease (IMHO).
Congrats on finding THE dress!! 🙂

Marti973: amccommon: Thanks ladies!! I’m definitely going to try out a few belts. It’s going to be so hard to wait to wear it!

Very pretty! I too am adding tulle cap sleeves that crisscross in the back and extra beading, but my dress doesn’t come in until April so I can’t share any pictures until then! Can’t wait to see how yours turns out!

sauve2015: I think with a belt it would be great its quite plain but at 70% off it could be beautiful with the alterations you say and a belt might help add the look of curves.
