I bought my dress on Saturday and I am SO excited!!! I searched and searched to find a good deal, but I fell in love with this Oscar dress at a trunk show. I can’t wait to wear my dress! The ruffles are perfection 🙂
And I’d love if another bride can wear it after me. Any tips on how to sell a gown?

@kmread: Wow that’s gorgeous, well done you! It would be terrible on my figure, but it’s really lovely.

beautiful! you can list it here in the classifieds or on websites like http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com or http://www.oncewed.com. You can wait till after the wedding or I’ve even seen listings for dresses that state the dress will be available after X date.

You can always stick it up on the classified section here.

LOVE it! It probably wouldn’t be appropriate for me to buy it and just wear it around the house, would it?

Very elegant! I would suggest the classifieds on here for re-sale.

You might consider finding a couture consignment shop that will sell it for you after the wedding. I’ve shopped at one in my area that is the sister store to an upscale bridal boutique. Congrats on finding your dress!!

@kmread: YAY for another ODLR bride!!! I did EXACTLY the same thing (committed to a good deal then fell for mine at a Saks trunk show last month!), and also am totally committed to giving another girl a chance to wear it too, either by donating or selling. I LUUURRRRVE your dress, I drooled over it but my figure just couldn’t carry it 🙁 – but then they brought out 33N64, and it was all “Hello Lover!!” 🙂 I’m thinking of listing mine here, preownedweddingdress.com or the “recycle your wedding” postings on ruffledblog.com – also, if you’re out NYC-way, there’s a great shop there called Bridal Garden that takes donations of used designer dresses and sells them for many percents off and all the money benefits women’s aid. Congrats, so exciting!!!
