I am soo excited, I found my perfect dress!
It’s not at all what I thought I would get, but it fits our wedding perfectly. I love it!
I had my heart set on Sottero & Midgley’s Clarice or Amber, both looked very nice on and if my wedding was going to be here in Vancouver I definitely would have chosen one of them.
I had seen so many lovely dresses on here from DB that I figured it was worth the short trip across the border to see what they had. My budget was $2000 for my dress but I figured why spend it if I found something amazing for less.
My DB experience was great(the DB in Burlington, Washington) and my consultant Lesley was so awesome and fun. I pulled a few dress I had seen online and she grabbed a bunch as well. Halfway through trying them all on i remembered a dress that I thought might work well for my destination wedding. Lesley went and grabbed a sample close to my size. As soon as I put it on my gf and I knew it was meant for me. It was soo light but had some structure(im not a fan of the typical destination dresses on me) and the best part, it’s a 2-1 convertible dress! Perfect for a hot beach wedding in Mexico.
The sample she grabbed for me was one size too small and that style was recently discontinued, so I couldnt order a different size. As soon as Lesley saw how much I loved the dress, she started calling other stores in the area to see if they had my size, they didn’t. I wasn’t too concerned with it being one size too small because I have been losing weight and have almost a year until my wedding. The dress has a zipper back and straight across neckline, I had always wanted a corset and sweetheart neckline, the alterations dept said there would be no problem making those changes. The bonus with a corset back the dress would fit me now =)
Oh and before I forget, my perfect dress only cost $389 incl tax, less the a quarter of my original budget!
Okay, enought rambling…..here she is =D
(please ignore the awkward faces)
What do you ladies think?
Again, I’ll be altering it to a sweetheart neckline and adding a corset back which will enhance my curves more.
