I finally bought the Vera Wang today that is hugely unpopular here as my second dress!!! Like my title says…I’m over the moon. I’ve tried on the dress twice since I brought it home today. I love it like I never loved my first dress. I want to go out in it, do the dishes in it, sleep in it…I just hope they can resize it in time with no problems.
Maybe the camera phone pics I posted were not doing it justice, I don’t know…It looks so lovely on me. Maybe it makes me look short but that really doesn’t bother me, I never had a problem with being short! And guess what, I don’t intend to remove the lace ruffle that everyone seems to have a problem with, I like it just fine. Even the neckline, I may alter it to a sweeetheart but I also like it the way it is.
My only regret is that I didn’t listen to my gut feeling and buy this dress five months ago, when I first posted about it. Then I would’ve had plenty of time for alterations, fixing the minor defects the sample has (a rip in the lace, some missing beads) and coordinating accessories. Or, I should’ve bought it instead of letting it slip a second time when I saw it sold online somwhere else for $1200 , instead of the $1900 I paid today (although considering it’s a $8400 dress, I can’t complain too much). I should’ve never posted a poll, never let myself be influenced, I should’ve just gone with my heart like I always do in all other aspects of life. I mean I love you Bees, you’ve been such a HUGE help with all the wedding planning and stress, but looking back this is one I wish now I’d decided on my own.
I really really hope to make this dress work and looking forward to posting pics after my wedding!

Is it the lace one or the satin one?

Congrats, Meliss! I’m so glad you went with the one you love. I’m guessing when people see you in it (whether in person or in pictures) it (and you) will look stunning. No dress makes everyone happy, but the important thing is that you feel fantastic in it! 🙂

It’s the one with the lace top and the ruffle thingie on the hips, and the tulle skirt 🙂
This sounds kinda lame but…When I very first started my wedding planning, I found these pics online of a bride and it made my jaw drop. The venue, the beauty of the photos, and just how tiny her waist looked in the photos! And the pics of her looking at herself in the mirror clearly loving how she looks…That was my wedding inspiration. So I booked the same venue and the same photographer. I just thought, I want to look like that but even better, I want my dress to top that, to be fancier. So I kept on trying fancier dresses, even bought one because it looked so special, but they never gave me that feeling. In this dress, my waist looks just as tiny, and I can smile at the mirror the same way that she does. I didn’t achieve in finding the most beautiful dress on earth that will also work on my body, but I finally managed to get the look and the feeling I was hoping for.

Congrats! I’m happy for you that you finally found a dress you love. Mine was a long process too, so I know how stressful that struggle is.
The way you feel in the dress is really the only thing that matters. If you don’t love the dress, you won’t feel 100% on your day and you will always be unhappy with the pictures.

Yay!!! I knew you were going to pick that dress. 🙂 So happy for you Meliss. You got that feeing of the “one” you said you did not have originally. Finally and not a moment too soon. 🙂
I got my Lazaro. I was about to put down on the Eve and was 2 minutes away from the store when my Lazaro salon called to say it was in so I turned around and went to buy it. I got it, tried it, and well I am not thrilled as I was when I tried on the Eve. 🙂 Did you decide if you were going to where your Lazaro to your reception?

Yay for you! I am glad it worked out. I also bought a dress the hive hated, and I was so excited when it came in. It was pretty much everything I wanted, except it ended up being way too big and had much more wear (used) than I expected for the price, so it did not work out for me. Moral of the story, as fabulous and helpful as the hive can be, sometimes you just know what is right for you!

Yay! Congratulations on choosing the right dress for you. There wasn’t a single dress you posted that didn’t look great on you though! All that matters at the end of the day is how YOU feel in your dress, and if the Vera makes you feel like a princess, then you definitely made the right choice. Congratulations (and what an amazing deal!)
