Had to share! I tried my dress on for the first time since ordering it in February. I have been putting off my first fitting as I know I need to lose a bit more weight for her to zip all the way up. Phoned the store Friday to set up a fitting for 2 week’s time, they said they were moving and call back Sept 4th. I had a mini panic attack – thought maybe they were closing or dress would get lost in the move so went and picked her up on Saturday and they convinced me to try her on since I found a necklace I loved and it was half price. I KNOW the necklace does not go but bought it anyway since it as half price and I can wear it with other things. Honestly if I was the only one at the wedding I would wear the necklace even though it doesn’t go 🙁 because I love it.
Anyway – here is the dress! What do you guys think? I have about 10 more pounds to go until I can zip her up! Yeesh cutting it a bit close but 2 months to go so should be fine.

pretty. Why didn’t you order the right size? That’s very dangerous, many brides actually gain weight as women gain from stress. Why don’t you get the zipper changed to a corset back/ It’s alot more forgiving and will actually prevent tons of other alterations needing to be made, where as leaving the zipper means certain parts need to be adjusted to fit properly, typically the bust line, on your dress the waist doesn’t look lik its as fitted as it should be.

First of love the necklace with it And the dress is great. I had to loss about 20lbs to fit into my dress. I did it in about 2 months lots of swimming and walking. Cut back on my intake of food amount sz wise smaller is better. Gook Luck and i know you can do it.

@drummerbride: Actually I did order the right size. I was 10 pounds lighter in Feb….
Have been dealing with a knee injury so put on a few pounds but am working out again. 10 pounds for someone 5’11 is not a lot. And the waist does not look fitted, because the dress isn’t zipped all the way up.
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. Do you really think I can pull the necklace off??!! I guess it’s my wedding – maybe I’ll wear it for the reception.

I agree with the “change it to a corset” idea. At least, talk to the seamstress about it and give yourself enough time to do it. Say, if you can’t do it up 3 weeks before the wedding make sure that your seamstress can change it to a corset within those three weeks. Don’t dive into the alteration without trying to lose the weight first, but just make sure you have a back-up plan!
