@anne B:Shit doesn’t happen–the shit is OVER because you are damn strong.

Good going! You just saved yourself from a whole lot of stress and unhappiness (even if it causes you some shorter term stress and unhappiness).

I was with a man that sounds VERY much like him for over 10 years… We even had two children in that time, and there were times we would try to plan a wedding. LOL But then he would be horrible about something or money would get tight and THANKFULLY I NEVER DID MARRY THAT JACK ASS! Because the saying “Sprinkling glitter on a turd” would have been exactly what it was. LOVE that saying… Never heard an expression that was more appropriate in your (and my former) situation. HAHA

Try and remember today’s resolve… Because I would always forget mine. : /  And his professions of his love always won me back. Until the day they didn’t!! And thankfully now me AND my kids don’t have to hear his crap anymore. AND I ended up marrying the right guy. LOL

GOOD FOR YOU!!! I hope the very best for you….and that you are getting a good nights sleep.

It is so great to hear this. I am proud of you for standing up for your children and yourself. My father & step-mother had a terrible relationship and she detested my siblings and I. It’s a horrible feeling to know your own flesh and blood is choosing someone over you, so I’m sure your kids will be glad to hear they finally get the love and respect they deserve, and so does their mother.

Best of Luck!

Hope you’re still hanging in there and staying strong.  I hope you are taking some time to heal from all that you’ve been through. Sounds like you have wonderful kids, I’m sure they are giving you lots of love and attention.

I married a man who I cut ALOT of slack because I too thought he had it tough when he was younger…his mom was raped and murdered when he was 20.  I was only married to him for 2 years because of what an ASSHOLE he was!! Good for you for leaving a man who was not good enough for you.  As I realized, I should not have to pay for what happend to his mom…neither should you. Good luck  (((HUGS)))

As a fellow breast cancer survivor… “I’m so proud of you”. You stood up for what you felt was right and had the courage to do so. I have a motto that I live by.. “What doesn’t kill me only makes me stronger” and you know as well as I do that a life threstening illness can build a strong character.

I’m here for you if you need someone that’s been down the same road.

Wow obviously he is VERY resistant to change, no changes in your relationship, no changes in your family dynamic, no new additions allowed.

Good for you for doing what YOU want and getting that change you need. Hoping for an update, you’re in my thoughts!
