To preface, I am very much a TYPE A person. We proofread our invitations and reception cards over and over and over. Then, my poor father called me the other day and said “Why did you spell my name that way?” I got so upset and freaked out saying we checked the invitations hundreds of times! Turns out, it was the RSVP envelope where we missed it! His name is Jesse. The cards say Mr. and Mrs. Jessee ______. They’re obviously already out. I can’t believe we missed it! Oh well….have to laugh about it now!

@Mars62312: At least it was your father and not his father. With yours you can laugh it off because you clearly know his name and it was an obvious mistake. With his father, I think there’d be far grater potential for embarasment with the implication being that maybe you didn’t remember how to spell it.
Anyway, sorry that happened. At least you can laught about it and point to all the places where it was spelled correctly. And it’s possible that most people won’t even notice it anyway.

I’m sorry it happened, but at least it’s not like My Big Fat Greek Wedding with Harry/Harriet!

oh my!! dont feel bad im a type A person as well.. we got our Save-The-Date Cards at staples and i know we checked them- we handed out our STD to a bunch of people…no one said a word to us
2 days later, my boss goes “oh hey whats wrong with your wedding website?”
Apparently… staples misprinted the site!!! thank godness i was able to catch about 1/4 of them ( the long distance ones) and printed the right site address.
Most people were able to figure it out that anthony is NOT spelled anothony!!!!

My sister spent weeks (lots of back and forth with my dad’s wife) doing our couple’s shower invites, and finally got them done and printed…
Only to find that she did her phone number wrong! She says, “How did we all miss this!?” Well, its YOUR phone number!!! Haha. Oh sister.
Although, that may have pushed my sister over the edge, and I ended up sending out the invitations, but thats another story 🙂
