I really like the fern dress! If you want a colored dress, have you tried looking at bridesmaid dresses? Even the fancier ones are still cheaper than a wedding dress, even though some are quite similar styles and they come in a wide range of colors.

Another for the fern! Remember that alterations can fix the bust or even remove some skirt material (although that might be a bit pricey).

I would put in a poll. I vote the Fern. I think it is most figure flattering.

If you don’t stay in love with a dress at this point I think it means you need to keep on shopping. I went to 5 dress shops and a trunk show before I committed to a dress – so I think I tried on at least 60. Also there are horror stories on this board about DB, just be aware.

Also the first couple of times I went out I really didn’t know what shape I wanted so I tried on a whole bunch of different styles. Once I knew what style I wanted it really helped me narrow my choices.

#2 and #3 are most flattering on you, and I’d give #3 the edge. It looks pretty amazing. Alterations, including a corset back or tweaks to the neckline, can be done anywhere (and I personally would recommend getting it altered elsewhere ANYWAY). Be aware that changing #3 to a zipper may alter how it fits your frame.

I know you love #4, but I don’t think the dress itself looks as high-quality as the other two, and I think the cut of the other two is more flattering, even considering the fact that the sample is small. (I obviously don’t know the sample sizes, but the Fern dress looks to be unbuttoned roughly the same amount, and it looks MUCH nicer.) The silhouette that #2 and #3 give you is so classic, and you lose that definition in #4.

However — if you’re not in love, I say that you keep looking!

I like the third dress. It is the most flattering. The corset back is nice and really handy as well. And I think the sash goes really nicely with it and doesn’t make your waist look bulky. It’s ultimately up to you, but as people that don’t know you, we are the most likely to give you honest opinions lol. I am having my dress custom made and it will have a Tiffany blue lining under white lace. If you are going for a color dress, there are plenty of inspiration pics you can find in google to give you a better idea. 🙂

I LOVE the third on you, but I also think the last one would look great altered… just takes a little bit of vision!  Go for it if you like it!

I was wondering if you tried on dresses anywhere besides david’s bridal. I was so underwhelmed by the dreesses from there but found many I loved elsewhere. Alfred angelo prices are about the same but I felt they were more flatttering. Just a thought since you dont sound in love with a dress yet.
