My partner is getting my ring custom made & I originally found a split shank solitaire cushion which I love – as I love love love vintage.
But then I alos love the emeral cut with baguettes.
Now I can’t decide!
I would love to have some helpful Bee assistance 🙂

One of my MOH’s has the exact emerald set you show. She got married nearly 6 years ago and I have to say it’s just as beautiful today as it did then. Maybe some emeralds could look dated but I don’t think “dated” when I think emerald. It’s a pretty classic shape. And this is coming from a round solitaire girl!
Maybe it’s due to the small picture but the other pic just didn’t have that “wow” factor for me. I do like cushion cut but I think the emerald is a beautiful choice.
Have fun getting your ring!

I love the cushion split shank 🙂 so gorgeous!

The emerald cut is beautiful, but I love the look of that split shank. I’m also a big fan of vintage rings–I like the idea that my ring won’t look like everyone else’s.

@littlemissbossy: I’m probably biased since I have an emerald cut and I’ve always had a thing for emerald cuts, but the second ring you posted is so gorgeous. I don’t think it will go out of style in a few years (though even if it does, who cares as long as you love it?). If you’re looking for a more vintage look and really like the emerald cut, you could always consider other settings. I think the split shank solitare could even look gorgeous with an emerald cut diamond.
This is just my personal taste, though. If you love the cushion cut split shank solitaire, that’s what you should get.

My vote is for the Emeraldcut! I have one and I love everything about it 🙂

@littlemissbossy: The second one is gorgeous. That would be my pick!

I would personally pick the emerald cut but if you’re a fan of vintage then I would pick the vintage one. Probably if you like vintage things then your clothes are styled that way so the vintage ring would maybe sit better with you and your style? I don’t think either will ‘age’ though.
good luck choosing!!!

Emerald cuts with baguettes have been popular since at least the 1940s (I have not researched if the look goes back further), and they are classic, stunning and gorgeous. I love the second ring!

Thanks for your input ladies!! – in the end we decided I will get the split shank cushion solitaire for my engagement ring and in a few years I will also get the emerald (just a small diamond) with baguetts when we have our first baby for my right hand :). One very lucky girl (with an amazing partner).
I didnt think it would age but girls at work kept telling me it would! Such a beautiful ring though.

I have an emerald cut so I’m partial to that! But think about wedding bands if you want one because they don’t really work with emerald cut e-rings.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the emerald with baguettes, that was the exact ring I would have chosen for myself (although I do LOOVVEE the one we went with, but still waiting on it to come in! SO only likes round stones… men… sheesh… the emerald is stunning too though and i would have been just as happy with that!!!)

I’m not normally a fan of emerald cuts but that second ring is GORGEOUS!
