So i know I have to pick bridesmaids dresses but I just can’t do it. I care but I don’t care is my problem. I want them to be black, knee length, and I want them to coordinate (ie; fabric and designer) but my girls are split (my sisters vs my friends) as to what they like and I have to choose. I hate this. I don’t know what to do. I’m afraid whatever I choose I’ll regret my choice, I’m afraid someone will be upset becuase they don’t like the dress which I don’t want and I just want to scream.
That’s my whiney rant for the day (my appologies becuase I’m sick and therefore everything seems like a much bigger deal than it really is)
What should I do?

@MsGinkgo: When you say they’re split as to what they like, do you mean you narrowed it down to a couple choices and half like one option, half like the other? I think what’s most important is for you to determine what your preference is, first. Identify two or so dresses (that are the color and style you like) that you know you would be happy with and go from there. It’s your wedding, your big day, your photos. Your friends and family should respect what your preference is.
I was in a wedding three years ago and did not care for the dress (not the color, neckline, style… anything). But I never said a word because I knew it wasn’t my opinion that mattered and the wedding was still beautiful, even if I didn’t love how I looked.
Don’t stress yourself out- go with your gut and what you love (even if you say you don’t care…which I assume means you don’t have a strong opinion). Don’t worry about who will be upset with your choice. It’s YOUR CHOICE. Do what makes you happy.

post pics and let the hive decide by a poll 🙂

@MsGinkgo: Make it a democracy. Narrow the choices down to 2 or 3, and have them vote. Do you have enough bridesmaid for this? Lol
That way, whatever happens, it’s no one’s fault

So here are the 2 lines that I’m stuck between – top, Mori Lee Affairs Collection in Black on Black Lace, bottom, Alfred Sung in Dupioni Silk, also in black.

@Atalanta: Pics and Poll added 🙂

Between the two, I’d pick the Alfred Angel. But it would probably be easier on everyone involved to just let th pick from both lines. I think they go together well!

@MsGinkgo: Are any of your girls large busted? The Mori Lee is the only one that offers an opportunity to wear a supportive bra.

@MsGinkgo: ooo fun
@JenGirl: yeah I agree that they could go together.

@JenGirl: @Atalanta: one of the girls did suggest this – I was wondering if that would look okay, seeing them here I think I’d be good with that.
@julies1949: one of the girls is a solid C (maybe D) cup but I know she’s good with strapless – she won’t wear halter or strap styles – but that is a good point. There are also dozens more styles for them to choose from, these are just my favourites from the 2 lines and the ones I think they’d be most likely to choose.

I would be much more likely to wear the Mori Lee dresses again, plus the material won’t show wrinkles.

My BMs tried on some of the Alfred Sung and the fit and fabric is very strange. I did not like them at all and felt they were not wearable again or flattering. They just looked so stiff in person.

I vote to let them choose from both!

I think if it’s possible, the bridesmaids need to try them on and then you can see which style suits all their different heights and figure types. One particular dress might stand out from doing that.

I love the look of the top row – lace is so pretty and elegant!
