Holy moly, it feels a little funny to be on here again.
It’s been a few years since I’ve been active on here, for good reason. I got married back in May 2014, which seems like an entire lifetime ago, because barely a year later, my now ex-husband told me he didn’t love me, never had, and he wants a divorce… and oh yeah 3 days afterwards, he and his 18-year-old coworker were officially together. He swears up and down he didn’t cheat on me, but… Bees, I’m not an idiot.
So, we split, I lived with my parents for a few months before getting an apartment on my own. I lived there for a year before I bought my first house! 4 bed/3 bath in the middle of absolutely nowhere. I love it, and I’m pretty proud of myself.
I dated a lot – all online – which was an entirely new experience since the ex was my first and only everything. It never seemed to go anywhere, but I had a lot of fun and learned a lot about myself.
Then, barely a week after I bought my house, I met a guy at the gym.
You can obviously see where this is going.
So, long story short, he’s fantastic. It’s amazing what I overlooked about my ex before, but that’s a story for another thread. Marriage has semi-recently become a common topic with us, so I figured it couldn’t hurt to start hanging around here again. I’ve been lurking for a few days now and decided to make this post before I just randomly started posting again and confusing everybody.
It’s good to be back!

MrsAtlantis : I certainly am! It’s been a roller coaster, but I know I wouldn’t be who I am if I was still married to that guy.
merighthere : That’s awesome! A friend of mine met her boyfriend at the gym right after I did, and now I keep telling all my single friends to start going. Plus now I basically have a free personal trainer, and he saw me without makeup before he ever saw me with it.

mepayne : Welcome back lady. While i am sorry about the demise of your marriage, I am excited about the possibility of new, true love. Congrats.

makeupluvr : Don’t be sorry! I’m honestly a million times better off – I mean, I have a house with only my name on the deed and it’s the most incredible feeling – and it would’ve been a pretty miserable life. The best thing he ever did for me was leave.

mepayne : Welcome back! I’m newer here but stopped by to say that I’m 10+ years out of a similar situation. Ex came home one day after being married a little over a year and told me he wanted a divorce, didn’t love me and didn’t know if he ever did. Looking back, that was the best gift he could have given me! It’s crazy how life happens, but sometimes something you think is the worst thing can actually be the best.
