I am having the hardest time trying to pick out a new wedding website…the previous one I had was through weddingtracker.com and they have royally screwwwwed us! (Won’t go into detail here)…
So the ones I’ve looked at that I like so far are:
Weddingwire (the only thing I don’t like is that you can’t buy your personal domain name)
I know that there are more out there…so which one did you ladies choose and why? Please help – I am just a bit overwhelmed lol.

I used my wedding and love it 🙂 feel free to check out our page. I’ve had no issues at all with them

I love my wedding too! Not NEARLY as many spams as you get with Knot and the like. Plus they have a ton of templates which I appreciate.
Feel free to browse….and critique! http://www.mywedding.com/melandmicki/index.html
Edit….grr my link is not working properly. I have updated with a workaround…but that pisses me off. Note this for your own use – it worked fine just last week…

@KellyLouise: Awww, your story is so sweet!! Bon Iver’s Perth won’t get out of my head though. Oh well, could be worse. Also, Micki moved in with me after two weeks. You’re absolutely right – when you know, you just know. 🙂
“Might as well” HA!!

Oh I love all of your wedding sites!! I love all of the stories on how you guys met! My fiance proposed after only 4 months of us dating, and it’s funny that you used the quote “When you just know, you know” because that was part of what I wrote on our “How We Met” section on the first website I did!
Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

@KyliePaige: Awww!! I couldn’t tear him away from me with a spatula if I tried! (in a very good way)
You know, it’s crazy that his mom hooked us up. I tried SO HARD to be a modern individual lady in the 90’s/2000’s (errr, what do we call that?), and yet…I was still introduced to my husband by his mother, like a little jewish girl in NY in the 50’s. It’s hilarious to me. 🙂

@WillyNilly: I think the way you 2 met is such a cute story….and I love how he wrote “his version” with such fairytale-like wording….I am assuming you left the oven (aka “hearth”) open accidently at the party? I was curious to hear about how that one went after the burning wore off (in plain English lol).
You were lucky…I’ve had co-workers try to set me up with their sons before and it never worked out – they always turned out to be screwed up in the head somehow…Ohhhhh the stories I could tell! 🙂

I used wedding wire and also didn’t like the whole http://www.weddingwire.com/mynameandhisname thing. So I just bought a domain name from godaddy (for 9.99 a year) and my website is now http://www.mynameandhisname.com but the host is still weddingwire. super easy and love it!

@KyliePaige: Um, I actually blame his brutally strong strawberry cocktails and omg-he-is-so-cute nerves for me doing that! hahaha He still has the scar, can you believe it? And looooves to talk about it when he gets the chance. *eyeroll* I just remember that even though we were ‘friends’, he ended up coming over at like 11pm, staying the night (I actually put a pillow between us when we slept on my bed!), and then we watched movies all day. I kicked him out at 2pm because I was like ‘why is this guy just hanging out at my house. This is wierd. And I am pretty sure he just pooped in my bathroom. RUDE.’ LOL Ahhhh, good times.
Greece is going to be amazeballs!

@WillyNilly: So your website has officially killed any plans I had for this afternoon! Ha I was casually browsing some topics on the board, saw this post, went to your page (starting to sound creepy, promise not a weirdo, just wedding-crazed), & now I “have” to make a wedding site! Your’s is super cute, love how both of your personalities come out. From the sound of it, your wedding is going to be tons of fun!

Weddingwire, hands down, if you plan to do online RSVPs.
I made a page using mywedding, and then sent Save-The-Date Cards. I then created a page on wedding wire just so that I could link to it for RSVPs! Their system is great, and it really helped with tracking guests, seating arrangements, etc.

@Roe: The same reason I’m using Weddingwire. A friend had major issues with the mywedding online RSVPs, and I didn’t want to deal with that stress.

I did NEARLYWEDS.COM it was free for 1 year and they have really pretty layouts to choose from. If you opt to renew it after the year i think it’s only $15 (?) to renew for another year.
