so two weeks ago I received the supplies for my invitations. I was so excited to get started!
I spent over a week getting my layout perfect (fonts, wording, etc.) and two nights ago went to try to test print on the vellum. It’s small, cut to size, and my ink jet printer doesn’t like it. pulls it through and then says “Paper not loaded correctly”
the doc will print on reg paper just fine. It’s so frustrating! I contacted the woman who owns the business that I bought my paper from, and she suggested I try a friend’s laser printer. but I was feeling pressed for time and asked if she would print them for me, I would pay her extra, and we would arrange to meet and exchange.
now today she emails me and says my pdf doc won’t print with her layout, and when I sent her my word files, she’s missing fonts so it looks awful! i’m at a loss for what to do!

If it’s a paper size problem, you could try taping the vellum to a larger piece of paper – I’ve seen some bees trick their printer into printing envelopes this way.
If it really is a problem with the type of paper, laser will be your solution. I used laser to print vellum and it worked fine. Do you maybe have a friend who has a laser printer?

You could just email her your font files too to keep them from defaulting.

i’m going to try my friend’s laser printer. then the copier at work if it takes transparencies. Then if that doesn’t work I’ll ask if she’ll accept the font files and re-do my invite doc.

I taped my vellum paper to the regular paper in the same size and it worked like magic on my inkjet printer.

oh my goodness, I can’t believe you taped each one! we tried that, and it worked once and then just continued to crunch the paper.
anyway, the happy update from my camp is that we tried it on a friend’s laser printer and they worked perfectly! so all our invites are done, and we are finishing them this weekend and they will go out in the mail Monday! yay!
