We have a registry online, and I’ve frequently added things or updated things that aren’t in stock. Now that shower invites have gone out, I’m noticing things that have disappeared, and there’s a running count of items purchased. And now I can’t stop checking and getting excited about the stuff we’re getting!
I feel like such a brat! I’m resisting the urge to see who purchased individual things, so I can be a little surprised, but I feel guilty checking and seeing what we’ve gotten. I also feel incredibly grateful, because a lot of our important items (carriers, pack-n-play, etc) have been purchased. I’m just excited about all this coming up, but I really do feel like I’m doing something sneaky or wrong by logging in so often to check.
Did you stalk your registry to see what people were buying you? Am I a total brat for not being able to resist?

Haha don’t feel bad. Technology makes it nearly impossible to resist! I did this for my wedding…but it serves a practical purpose as well. You can make sure that you have enough items in enough reasonable price ranges to accommodate those who wish to buy you gifts.
ETA: Out of curiousity, what registry are you using?

The first thing to disappear from our registry was the most expensive item (our car seat!)
Darling Husband watched it religiously, but I love surprises! I still found out a few gifts by accident, but I was REALLY surprised at our shower!

I’ve been stalking my registry too but nothing has been purchased so far. My shower is two weeks.

@kate02121: We’re using Amazon, prices are cheaper there than most other places, and it’s convenient having everything in the same spot.
I’m totally not one of those people that wants to know Christmas presents or anything either, but it’s just so easy to look on the registry! I don’t even think Darling Husband knows how to find our registry, so this is solely my thing with the compulsive checking.

I could not resist either. Just too easy, and too fun. 🙂

I’ve been stalking too! As the date gets closer (the 10th) and not much is gone, I’ve been going through and deleting the less necessary items so that there’s less selection, so I have to see what’s gone so that I don’t accidently delete purchased items. Only 3 items are gone so far. I’ve been good though and at least haven’t looked at who they’re from.

@ZoeyGirl: Im no where close to creating a baby registry but I did the same thing for my wedding registry! I must have looked at it daily, sometimes more than a few times a day and got so excited every time something was bought! I can only imagine what I will be like when its time to register for this baby!

Oh boy…I am a major registry stalker! We had our first shower last weekend and I was compulsively checking it. We have another one in two weeks and a work one at the start of December. I have been pretty good this week, but we will see how next week goes. I figure, I know what we registered for, so it won’t be much of a surprise unless they go off the registry. That’s how I justify it!

@ZoeyGirl: I stalked the hell out of mine! I knew everything I was getting and from whom. I’m not a big surprise person, so it was great for me!

I stalk mine daily! I’m freaking out bc only 4 things have been purchased and my shower is next saturday…since it’s primarily online items I guess I’m going to be doing lots of returns and then buying the items myself. sigh owell we had to do the exact same thing for the wedding as well.
I can’t resist looking either though I don’t see anything wrong with it.
