LOL! I actually got a couple of sets of smelly lotions for xmas. I keep saying I will use them but I keep sticking to my cocobutter. Maybe you can re-gift? Ya I said re-gift! I am sure someone out there would love a set of lotions out of the blue!

Haha! Yes, I totally agree with you! I made the mistake of saying I like Marilyn Monroe one time, and now I have SO much Marilyn stuff it’s ridiculous. I do love most of it but Christmas ornaments and a jigsaw puzzle? Little much.

We are having a huge yard sale in early spring and I hope it gets rid of  A LOT of our clutter because I want my 2nd bedroom and garage back! We have stuff from his mom’s yard sale last year she didn’t sell too… anything that we don’t sell is going straight to charity, NOT back in the house, haha.

Hahaha, I have ALWAYS hated receiving those kind of bath sets myself!  So I agree, preach on, girl!

At lest you get the good stuff. If my mom or sister even one more time buy me those gift sets from a walmart or drug store I will scream. I have very sensitive skin (well known in the family) and cant use them or I will break out. The only thing I use it for is the poof thing that comes with it. I feel bad because I hate to throw things away, but I have to. No one else wants mine cuz they still have the same one my mom or sister got them the last few years too.

@Eye Candy: Why not give them to a women’s shelter? I get a plethora of cat stuff. I have two cats. I love my cats beyond words. I do not want to decorate my house in cats, wear cat shirts, brooches, or earrings, and I’m sure as hell not drinking wine out of a bottle that’s shaped like a cat and doesn’t even have a freaking label.

@Eye Candy: Seriously, I’ve gotten two bottles of cat wine. Ewwwwwwwwwww. Hmmm I’m sure there must be an organization for donating wedding dresses… If you’re looking for a military one, why not put a post up in the Military forum and see if anyone there knows of one? That’s not my area of expertise by any means!

Uh yes! I went through bagged all mine up and gave them to friends who like smelly-good lotions. They loved them andI was relieved to have my bathroom cabinet space back!

@bakerella: I have a cat too. I’ve pretended to hate him to avoid the dreaded cat gifts! The girls at work always give me cat b-day cards now…I think its unavoidable curse of being a cat owner.

@cricket2082: I don’t mind cat cards. In fact I got a really hilarious one for Christmas. It’s the actual physical paraphenalia that is supposed to be displayed around the house. It’s awful. Like wooden cats or iron cats that go in the garden. Ugh. The only two good cat related presents I’ve ever gotten are  1) A tent for the cats to nap in. They love the damn thing and I thought it was very sweet and thoughtful.  2) A bracelet with all three of the cats names when I found out Smee was sick. My friend hand stamped the metal for me and said it was so I’d always have all three of them with me no matter what happened. Sweetest thing ever.

Cat wine? Most awful thing ever.

@bakerella:  I don’t mind the cards either and of course I’m an avid Icanhascheezburger.com fan too! I agree with youo. If I start having little cat figurines and items of clothing gifted to me I might gag a little.

That’s super sweet that your friend gave you a bracelet! I love to hate my crazy Marcello (the angry italian kitteh) but if anything happened to him I’d be devestated.

I feel like the bath/lotion gift sets are something people keep on hand for when they forget that they need a gift.

I only have bought candles for people when I didn’t know what else to get them (like my SIL for hosting my shower) – and I only will buy Woodwick or Yankee so at least they’re getting something nice.

If it’s family/close friends getting them for you perhaps you can redirect them to something else (I usually ask for a different perfume every Christmas) otherwise return for credit or regift!

@Eye Candy…if you want to donate your dress to charity, I think that’s an awesome idea…I’m doing the same thing.  I’ll tell you where I’m going to donate mine.  Brides Against Breast Cancer.  They have a big ‘ole website that explains what they’re organization is about and what they do with donations and dresses.  I’m actually doing a donation through them for my favor.  I believe when you donate your dress, you send 40 dollars along to cover the cleaning costs.  Some people balk at sending money to clean the dress when you donate it, but it costs A LOT and it saves me from having to do.
