I’m getting married on St Pat’s day. We’re going to JOP then having a regular reception/party. While not over the top St Pat’s theme, we’re incorporating it into the party in a classy (ok so we’re also having green beer) way.
I always knew I wanted a very casual off the rack dress. I ended up with 3. The one I thought I’d wear fits me horribly now. I’ve lost about 35 lbs and what was once flattering now makes me look like an oval. The one I couldn’t zip is very cute.. I MAY still wear it for the ceremony… unsure. The other is a bit TOO casual. So I paniced because I didn’t LOVE any of my dresses.
Went to Catan’s Bridal Saturday… need 6 months to order. Not to mention the place wreaked of pretentiousness and I itched as soon as I stepped in. So I went to David’s Bridal. Didn’t care for any I tried on…. one was ok but a clearance and stained on top yet still $250… more than I wanted to spend on an “ok” stained dress. Then I tried on some green dresses just cuz. And I fell in love. Well. Twice. So now I’m a 5 dress bride but I swear I’ll only wear 1… 2 tops (but everyone will only see me in 1 aside from Fiance and immediate family).
My dress will be green:)
FI’s cousin’s fiance asked me at Christmas if my dress was green. At the time it was not. My shoes were. She sounded horrified and said “THANK GOODNESS Fiance said it was GREEN!”….
Well, it is now. I’m 36, getting married for the first time, doing nothing traditionally… I will wear my green wedding dress PROUDLY!

@CindyRelly: I didnt like Catans bridal either! I got my dress at The Dress shop in Medina… way better experience. Its owned by the sweetest ladies in the world.
Good for you wearing green! I think its fun and you should do whatever makes you happy!

@Rockwell: Hey there neighbor!!! Yeah.. the outfits the employees were even wearing at catans.. I was like REALLY!?! This is strongsville not LA LOL!
I’ll get pics. The one I bought is a bit tight but I’m on a diet through a dr for my PCOS so wt is coming off quickly… it will fit fine. I go get the other tomorrow. It will be a size too big but I’ll likely have to have either made smaller either way so no biggie.
Both are just bridesmaids dresses… I will post pics:)

@Rockwell: Hi! How much of a lead time did The Dress Shop tell you they needed? Also, would you share where you had your wedding? I’m currently debating venues in NE Ohio while living in DC. Thanks!

Here we go! I don’t have photos of me in them yet but the first one I have is this in clover
And tomorrow I go to another location to pick this baby up… well, try it on and likely buy it because I freaking love this dress and will wear it anyway~! Can’t beat the price!!!
Can’t find a pic of the other. I’m getting upset reading reviews now with people saying it looks awful on big girls. I’m still going to be a “bigger girl” on my wedding day. Ah well…… my family is brutally honest and said it was flattering.
