So I got a hair cut yesterday and asked for side bangs- when I got home I felt the bangs were to thin so I reparted my hair to take some more and cut. I am not a hair dresser and don’t know why I thought this would be a good idea. I took to much out…so they are thicker and shorter than I want. I am so dumb!
Has anyone else done this before? Please someone make me feel better. I’m going away for my one year anniversary this weekend. Bangs grow fast righ???

@jessmex12: Aw, my college suitemate did this too, she just pinned them back until they grew out (which didn’t take very long). You can experiment with some of these styles until then, which all look fabulous to me:

@jessmex12: sorry but the title made me laugh:) Go back to the hair stylist! She may be able to thin them out or cut them so they look better. Or find a way to pin them back till they grow. Good luck!

@MlleFabuleux: thanks for the pics! Bobby pins are going to be my new friend
@mrs.stormylove: haha I am an idiot! I don’t know why I thought I could do that. I am to embarrassed to go back to the hair dresser. i think I am going to let them grow and get them fixed/blended in a a month or so.

@jessmex12: I thought of another way to cheer you up. Shannyn Sossaman had/has these tiny, choppy bangs, and she is seriously one of the most beautiful women I’ve seen. So, you’re in excellent company, OP 🙂

I’ve totally screwed up my own bangs. Haircutting looks a lot easier than it actually is.

This post kills me. I’ve so done this and regretted it but yes, bangs grow fast even if they don’t grow OUT fast.

Lol, this is funny! Just pin them back as pp have said. There are a lot of great hair styles out there.

Oh no! I think we’ve all been there. Pin them back until they grow out.

Yep, definitely done that!! And recently too… There’s a few days before the weekend which should give your bangs time to soften a bit and will allow you some time to get used to styling them. You never know, you might love them once you’re used to them!

I’ve done it all before. My bangs mess up was the worst. I did it about 6 months ago and they look just fine now. I’ve also tried cutting my hair, ummm never again. It was so uneven. I’ve even gone as far as cuting FH’s hair. Well, that was more of a disaster than I’ve ever done to myself. Who knew, short hair seemed so easy to cut, well I know now.

I’ve cut my bangs several times and sometimes they end up a bit shorter or I cut a bit too much- they’ll grow back so quickly- they may not be back 100% but enough so that they’ll blend and you’ll be able to make them look cute.

Yup I have done it. Did it the morning of my grandfathers funeral. Looked like a total idiot but it gave my family a laugh on what was a horrible day. NEVER done it again mind you! 😉

Yep, I’ve done it and I’ve also cut my own hair on an IhatethewayIlook whim. Clips and pins are your friend until it starts to grow 🙂

Oh man haha I can totally empathize because I’m currently in the pinning back/growing out stage myself. Never have I felt a more instant form of regret than in the few moments after cutting my own bangs. They’ll grow out soon enough and you are definitely not alone! 🙂
