@iwl:  Numb is okay for now. But soon you need to turn that numbness off and deal with what just happened. Cry, yell, throw a fit at him. Do NOT hold it all in. (Being numb, it may feel like there is nothing to feel… but I promise you, there is).

Good luck with everything.

@iwl:  you will definitely feel a void in your life but if you feel deep down that you did the right thing, then good for you.  just focus on yourself and keep yourself busy.  time heals.

@iwl:  You are probably in a bit of a “shock mode.” It’s a huge life decision so I think what you are feeling right now is very normal. It will wear of & the emotion will eventually return.

Best of luck & I’m sure you did what was best for youself.

If you knew now it wouldn’t work- then good for you sweetheart! You are very brave and I think it takes someone very strong to admit that they are unsure. There is going to be heartache but not near as much as there may have been later down the road. Again- very strong and mature thing to do if it is what you want.

You might feel numb for a little while, eventually it should pass. I read your other post, and I think you made the right decision for your future. 🙂

Much respect your way. No matter how straightforward a decision something seems in theory, or typed out, it’s never that easy to carry through with and execute. And, quite honestly, numb doesn’t even necessarily have to lead to grief. Perhaps numb will lead to normal again — don’t spend ages anticipating depression that may not even show!
