Ok ladies, please help me feel a little less nutso…
I went to Michael’s yesterday for some Christmas craft supplies and, as is a waiting girl’s perogative, I was perusing the wedding aisles when I saw some adorable DIY invitiation kits on clearance down to $10 from $40. So of course I snagged them. 90 invites worth. I think I’ve lost my dang mind. SO hasn’t proposed yet (my ring is on layaway and we already have his ring- again because it was such a good deal that we decided to go ahead and get it) and here I am buying wedding supplies. Part of me thinks “buy little bits here and there to save on costs and spread it out some” while hte other part is screaming “YOU AREN’T ENGAGED YET, GIRL, COOL YOUR JETS!”.
I mean, they fit the theme I already have in my head and we both know we don’t want a huge ballroom type affair and they are so cute and they were on sale….yeah. I’m crazy.

@MissGreenBean: I don’t think you’re crazy. You have a ring, he has a ring, you know you’re getting engaged and they were a steal. Just don’t go buying a dress 😉

@MissGreenBean: Hooray for bargain hunting! 😉 Don’t feel too crazy, it’s not that bad – you only spent $10, lol.

i think it was a good buy but MAYBE hide them?

@fingerscrossed: Oh they are hidden haha! I got in the car and thought “whoa! crazy girl alert!” and threw tose bad boys under the bed as soon as I got home. He never really goes under there for anything, it’s mostly my off-season clothes in storage boxes down there.

It’s only $10 so no big deal, but what if you have more than 90 guests to invite once you start planing?

@MrsWBS: That is pretty unlikely, but worse comes to worse and they have to be scrapped it’s not that big a loss and I can always repurpose them as invites for some other event (they are the kind you print yourself so I can dictate the wording, and they aren’t covered in wedding rings or anything)

@MissGreenBean: HAHA Fiance and I both did that before we got “engaged” we saw them at 9.99 and were like holy cow so we snagged them. I asked him if this is weird his reply “No we know we are going to spend the rest of our lives together and that the wedding will eventually happen might as well stock up and save us so money before that day.” So don’t feel crazy because we didn’t.

not at all. I see those at my discount store and I have to put talk myself out of it every time. I would only need enough for about 50 people tops.
So 1) I feel you. and 2) your not crazy

@MissGreenBean: Eh, I would’ve done the same thing. Go for those deals!

As is shamelessly picking up 2 brand new sets of white outdoor lights at a yardsale this summer… for that future wedding reception I have planned…

After Christmas sales and stuff you see GRAB, save the cash since you know its coming. Maybe a tote in the trunk to stash that stuff in. I am all about saving, weddings are expensive.
