So I was inspired to DIY dye my crinoline to add some secret pizazz to my ensemble.
We’re having a classy Nautical wedding on a yacht & our colors are Navy Blue, White & Gold.
This is our inspiration photo, finalized Bridesmaid or Best Man dress, Groomsmen suits & our yacht: The Eternity.
I must confess have been wrestling with dress regret
((thinking my dress is lush silk with timeless details but maybe too plain))
BUT I’m happy to report that I think personalization is helping!
Here we are with the 2″ wide blingy belt, 4″ badgley mischka lissa’s, unfinished silver & gold brooch bouquet & a random elbow length veil I had lying around *not commited to yet*
What do you guys think?!
Also, is my dress too short? Should I wear lower heels?
I dyed the crinoline with RIT navy blue TWICE last night… first it came out too light and looked purple, next it looked darker but does it still look purple?
I’m really going for navy to bring in the other colors of the wedding because I couldn’t dye it gold & have it not resemble orange or yellow…
SO if you DO think its more purpley, any ideas how to get it darker navy so it NEVER resembles purple?
Purple is nice but it really has no place in our wedding…
MUST HAVE NAVYYYY!
Let me know your thoughts girls!

@JessicaPop: AWWWE Thank you, thank you! We almost went with RED white & navy cuz its super nautical but I think the Gold is soooo classic that I’m REALLY HAPPY I stuck to my guns! hehe
@MrsPom: YESSS! So glad you think so! and Thank you for the compliments! Its been a roller coaster with this dress (sample I got for a steal but that needs to be cleaned!) but I think jazzing it up and truly making it my own is really helping!
Here’s the back is my fav part! Little bows & crystal buttons all the way down the back:

@memorialbride13: AWWWWE thank you! thank you! You TOTALLY should do it! idk what color you’d want but it was SUPER easy & it only took about an hour. I did it in my top loading washer and it really only took an hour or so but adds A LOT of fun!
&& thanks for the reassurance!
@MrsBlueSeptember: I’m so glad you love it! This was my first true start-to-finish DYE so it really is a little victory! hehe I now need to finish my brooch bouquet! Eep!

I don’t think it looks purple at all. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I think it looks great! I really love the pop of color.

@KimmySumShuga: We’re doing Navy and Silver with purple accents so I would be happy with either navy or purple lol!

@MsPoodles: lol fabulous! That is the exact reaction I’m looking for! hehe The gown and all the sparkle was feeling all too fancy pants for me… I had to have something a little sweet/goofy/surprising in there and I think this is perfect!
I think my dress is sorta morphing into a mullet…
business in the front, party UNDERNEATH! haha
