- Wedding: March 2010
After all the pictures had been taken at Cheeca, the guys and Fred left for Coconut Cove and the girls waited for my dad to arrive. I debated weather or not to put my veil in. I put it in, I took it out, I put it back in. I should have left it out. You’ll see why later. My dad arrived and we went down to meet him. We piled in the car as Bridesmaid B realized she’d forgotten her bouquet. She went to retrieve it and on the way back had quite possibly the funniest conversation I”ve ever heard.
Old Man In Elevator: So, have you ever seen the movie Wedding Crashers?
B: Yes. Why?
Old Man In Elevator: Guess it’s going to be a hell of a night for you tonight!
B: Haa… no. (And escapes quickly from elevator)
As soon as we were all back in the car we headed over to Coconut Cove where we had to drive around the back to keep out of sight of our guests. Before I knew it my dad and bridesmaids were being escorted away and I was sitting all alone in the car with my nerves. While I was sitting, waiting, panicking, the following was happening:
My mother was getting Flower Girl Little J and her petals all ready to go:
My Uncle and Paul were going over last minute details:
The rows were decorated with my labors of love:
The Ceremony area was all set up:
Our guests all came to sit down:
and sat down to wait for the processional to begin:
Then the men walked in, which meant it was time to start!
From left to right: My uncle, officiant; The Mr. , Best man F, groomsmen S and M.
Our Steel Pan player Bob Lyons (highly recommended) was in position and began to play:
please listen to this in the background, it’s the music we chose for our processional:
First up, the grandmothers. THe Mr’s grandmother escorted by his uncle.
Next, my grandmothers escorted by my brother J,
Then came the parents. Up first, THe Mr’s mother escorted by his brother J,
ThenThe Mr’s father escorted by his stepmother,
My parents, escorting each other
Then came our bridal party, starting with our ringbearer Little A,
Bridesmaids – first up B, then J
Then my maid of honor, my sister A. I love this picture because it shows just how nicely the dresses moved in the wind – exactly why I wanted chiffon.
My flower girl Little J- please notice her adorable flip flops because you won’t see them again the rest of the night 🙂
And then, it was my turn!
