m4stek:

“I mean if I’m talking to another guy who comes off as rude I’d consider him an asshole. Why does it have to be different now that I’m talking to a woman?”

Except you afford the man in your little example considerably more respect by simply labelling him as an asshole and leaving it there. For a woman, like the ones in this thread, it’s not that she’s just rude, it’s because they’re man-haters, and damaged by men and therefore lashing out with their hurt little feelings and uncontrollable emotions and lesser intellect. You reduce these women to caricatures and stereotypes on a level below you to maintain your position of superiority rather than acknowledge any of their legitimate arguments. You also make one women a respresentative of the whole so you can write the majority of us off as hysterical and unreasonable. So honestly, is it truly “not different now that I’m talking to a woman?”

m4stek:  Sometimes the Bees dishes out some tough love – it hurts, but you know what?  The women who’ve responded to you are pretty much right.

Chalk it up to some new information to explore.

I took my husband’s last name. I go by Mrs Dresden and not Ms Murphy (and yes it’s a literary reference so not my real name) because I wanted to.  I want our whole family to share one name blah blah blah. But if my dear Harry had made it a deal breaker or an imposition that I do so…well it would have revealed a complete and utter mismatch in our personalities. See,  I believe in the right to choose so if it hadn’t been a choice, my choice of mates would’ve differed substantially.

I didn’t read your other post, so I’m just going to go with what you’ve said here, I say you tell your Fiance exactly what you’ve said here and let her choose her NAME, IDENTITY and HUSBAND.

m4stek:  so to not want to bend to your will is to “hate men” according to you. Lol.

reality: to expect women to bend to your will and get angry and outraged when they won’t means you hate women.

Conclusion: you are the hater.

m4stek:  Actually, I did, which is why I kept my name. And why I suspect your wife wants to keep hers. Why is her family and bloodline less important than yours?

monsterly:  I await his mansplaining with bated breath. His assumption that we want/need approval from him simply because he’s a man is slaying me.

m4stek:  Femaninty?

But since we’re all about “unity” and bein a “united” family unit, I’m glad to know you would also consider changing your name for that unity… right?  Or is that only for us womenfolk?
