Hey girls, I just want to share this with you and see if any of you have a good tip for me. I ordered my dress in November and it came in finally few weeks ago. It is still as beautiful as I remember it but I can’t say the same for myself. I don’t fit in the dress anymore….I have gained 7 or 8 pounds since the time I ordered it and i can barely zip the back halfway. I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress at work and family-related, and I think it’s my stress eating that got to me. Has anybody else had the same issue? My wedding is september 3rd. I know there is still full 3 months and 7 or 8 pounds is not unrealistic to loose but I’m scared…I’ve been dieting and exercising hardcore for the past few weeks but I’m not seeing any results except for 1 pound loss. I can’t stop thinking what if I can’t lose it despite trying…maybe i should buy a new dress even though i can’t afford it and time is running out. My sister recommended I drink a glass of warm water mixed with a tablespoon of applecider vinegar and honey, which is supposed to somehow help weightloss. I’m sharing my embarrasing moment here to ask for your sincere advice, tips, etc…Just as a visual help, attached is a picture of me in my dress when I first ordered the dress and another one after the dress came in. hope you ladies have a lovely lady. lots of love.

the dress can always be let out a bit, theres usually extra fabric inside the side seams for this purpose..

Real weight loss won’t start on someone who isn’t over weight but just has a few to lose for about 6 weeks. What you should do is ignore the scale and use a tape measure. You body may be adding muscle which will make you weigh more but be losing inches. Just keep doing what you are doing and you should be ok.

Seven or eight pounds isn’t that bad. I’m getting married in September also and I want to lose about 10-15lbs. Have you ever heard of the website sparkpeople.com. I have used it in the past to help lose weight. No gimmiks, no fad diet, no cost. Just good advice for weight loss and it helps you track your calories in and out.

I’m scared of this too, I think I’m getting a lace up corset put in the back instead of the zipper it has now. I love your dress!

You are beautiful and the dress looks great! I wouldn’t panic. There are things you can do. The dress can be let out and you can always turn the back into a corset style too. It might cost you some extra in alterations costs but that is much cheaper than buying a new dress! 7 or 8 pounds should be attainable too. I am a stress eater too, so I feel your pain.
Diet-wise, try doing a clean eating diet. I did a 24 day clean eating “cleanse” where I had no dairy, no wheat, no sugar, and no alcohol. Lean protein, fruit, veggies and my starches were couscous, brown rice, sweet potato or beans. You eat your 3 meals with 2 snacks and snacks are things like almonds and a piece of fruit or a rice cake with 1 tbls natural peanut butter on it. And lots and lots of water. I lost 8 pounds in those 24 days and have been off for a month now and have kept it off. Other people in my office did the same thing and they lost between 5-15 pounds.

If you are worried could you try to put in a corset back? Otherwise adding in some weight training and interval training helps alot! I lost inches quick 🙂

Thank you bells, the tailor at the dress shop said there wasn’t any extra fabric in my dress (which I feel like I should seek other opinions) so I’m not sure if that will be an option. here is another picture by the way, I forgot to post.

I agree w/ mkewed2010 that if you’re worried, just put a corset back in there. That way if you lose or gain, you’ll still fit. Also, make sure you’re drinking lots and lots of water along with your workouts, and eating 5 smaller meals a day to keep your metabolism up. The first week or two you probably won’t notice much on the scale, but as you continue, you’ll really see the lbs fly. Just make sure you’re eating enough to fuel your body. You can do it – it’s only 7 lbs away!

@gisellebride: First… you look stunning! Second I have a suggestion… as I too and a stress eater… Have you tried it with a corset? You can order one online or try a local store but let me tell you… the corset does amazing things and if laced up properly might just get that zipper zipped without too much effort. So I recomend trying to eat healthy, going on walks… the fresh air will do you good, and not focusing too much on it because then you will get stressed and then you will eat bad stuff or at least that is what I would do! So I say find a corset try it out and just try to take a breath and relax. You are going to be beautiful!

Try cutting down on your carbs a bit. It’s helpful. I also highly recommend walking. I lost 20 pounds quite quickly by adding a lot of walking to my routine. Walk everywhere you can, park your car farther away, take a walk when you want to get away from work for a minute or two, walk around the building/block once before you go into work everyday, etc. Every little bit helps. And drink lots of water!
ETA: Your dress is truly beautiful.

Thank you everyone for your support!!! I really appreciate all the tips and suggestions and I’ll start using them rightaway, and the corset tip is a great idea. I’ll keep you posted as to how much progress I make during this time.

I’m sure everyone has different weight loss advice, and they may all work differently for different people. 7 pounds is definitely achievable between now and Sept. 3 (Date twins!). I’d like to lose the same amount as well. My strategy for the past few years ( on again, off again) has been Weight Watchers. It works so well for me! I lost about 25 pounds the first try, over the course of several months. Ii put about 10 or so of that back on last year and now I’m back on the plan again to lose those pounds. WW is all about portions, and healthy choices. But my best advice to or to any bride who’s stressed is to just exercise it off! I’m also sooo tempted to stress eat when stuff is going rough but then I feel even worse after. With the summer weather approaching, just get outside, go for a walk, bike ride, etc and rock the ipod at full blast! good luck!

Huh, I’m trying to lose 8lbs in 5weeks and trust me, in a week and a half I have seen results. The thing is this, portion control is key. That’s it. Nothing else. Weight loss is more diet than exercise because you can exercise all you want but if you eat too much, there is a net gain. Also, are you abolutely sure that there are no spare inches to let out on that dress? It’s just that most dresses come with extra fabric in the seams to be let out in case the bride needs that. FWIW, I think your dress looks fab as is. If you don’t feel so good about it, maybe some spanx?

You have planty of time to start and excersize routine and to start making healthier eating choices. I honestly think you would regret getting the dress let out rather then taking your health into your own hands and working hard to get in shape.
I am currently doing the Insanity workouts today is day 3 of my 4th week and I feel great. It is SUPER hard but so worth it. I have never put exersize first in my life and now that I am I am very happy that I have stuck with it this far.
If you need any motivation msg me I know exactly how you feel an how hard it is to exersize and eat healthy.
