Well first off we are having an outdoor Vow Renewal. My colors are Blues, Yellow, Oranges, so quite bold. Also some Ivory thrown in there. All paper flowers made by me, and hopefully recruiting some friends. (posted pics of venue and flowers below)
But I don’t have a “theme” I do not like really any of the wedding “invitations or save the dates” except the hot air balloon ones. Is it okay to put hot air balloons on STDs and invitations even if we aren’t using any balloons in the ceremony or anything? Its more of a rustic fun type of whimsicle thing! the stage will be decorated with a “bunting” sign that reads ” HAPPILY EVER AFTER” (as it will be our 20 years) and i am planning on hanging the bigger tissue flowers from the celiing/roof of it with fishing line… also planning on flower garland around the edges and stuff… I have a vision I just can’t articulate it too well.
please let me know how to handle this.

It is okay to do WHATEVER you want!
With that being said, your venue looks tropical. Perhaps you could go with a tropical theme. I did not have a theme for my wedding, but I just kind of stuck with a color scheme (ivory, gold, brown and green – see my inspiration below) so everything was done in one or more of these colors and things kind of went together and didn’t look random. You have picked your colors. You could do the same. Oh, by the way I got invitations from the internet. If you don’t like the invitations and stds you’ve seen so far, there are tons of places to look on the internet. You don’t have to settle for hot air balloon invitations if they are not what you want.

How about something like this? The hot air balloons go with? I would think that WAS the theme if I got an invitation like that, or expect a ride in one when I got there!
There’s lots of invitations in many styles and designs, so keep looking!

I personally would think that hot air balloons was the theme if I got an invite like that…that said, you don’t have to have a theme. If you can find invites in your color scheme then that should work just as well. I would also recommend etsy…someone there could definitely work with you to make something perfect.

Absolutely!! It’s your party, you can do whatever you like 🙂
I don’t necessarily think you need a ‘theme’. I think the fact that its a wedding is theme enough! I’m in the same boat – have colors i love, and no theme.

I agree hot air balloon sounds like a theme, but if its something that is special to you it would make sense even if its not a theme. As previously said, I’d check out etsy. Or if there was a picture of you two that you’d want to include I’d look at Shutterfly and the like. Shutterfly even lets you view by color which sounds like it would be great for you.
