Beautiful ring! Don’t return it. Come back and tell us how your proposal went!

It’s beautiful. Ignore your family and move forward with your proposal.

I think it’s beautiful and classic! But I’m sure your gf will be more focused on you wanting to marry her than the ring anyway.

Plus, if she doesn’t like the ring maybe she can pick out her own ring after the proposal?

Your family doesn’t know what your girlfriend will like. It’s a very pretty ring, and I love the sentiment with the engraving. I bet she will be thrilled!

Relax, the ring is beautiful & I love that you had it engraved. I’m sure she’ll love it! If for no other reason than she loves you!!

Don’t let anyone spoil your engagement with their negativity!

Please don’t take anyone else’s advice on the ring except your own and hers!  I would hate if my bf picked out a ring based on the advice of another female. Even if it is your mom/sister.

Mr.Miller :

I think it is absolutely beautiful. And it is in no way a small ring. Most would feel really happy and lucky to receive a ring like this.

Don’t let other people ruin it for you!

#1, you are very sweet to come here and be so concerned and want her to be happy.  That’s awesome.  #2, the setting is classic and beautiful and she will love it – I also love the shape of the diamond.

However, look on Blue Nile – how much is a similar diamond for a color G or H?  I personally think it’s a waste of money to get colorless D and higher.  I have a H diamond and I cannot imagine it looking brighter!  I get compliments constantly.  I vote yes to return and get her a 1.0+ center diamond, same setting, in a H color, similar price.

Now regarding the band – don’t worry so much about it being thin; when she gets a wedding band (or 2, like me!) she can get it soldered together so it’s thicker.  Here is mine, color H, 1.25 ct diamond, 2 wedding bands (also bought online from Adiamor.com):

The ring is beautiful! Great job choosing it and doing research on the 4 C’s to find her a beautiful ring! I have a similar engagement ring (but from James Allen) and I love it!! Blue Nile is a great online jeweler. I would not worry too much about how durable the pave is, because it should be made well or else the company would make it right. About the comments your family made, I would only worry about the band width being too think if she loves statement jewelry or is a ring size larger than ~7. Thin pave bands emphasize the center stone beautifully 😊

Also if your gf is color sensitive, colorless stones are great! I have an F color diamond and would never go any lower in color because H looks yellow to me. Do you know if your gf is color sensitive? If you don’t, a clue might be whether she is particular about shades of certain colors or clothing she wears.

Lastly, if she is fluent in Spanish, be sure to fix the engraving before proposing!! The phrase is romantic and really sweet but it should read “Amor de Mi Vida”!!!

Ugh this is why you don’t ask for people’s opinions !! The ring is lovely and all that’s important is that she likes it

That was so mean of your mum and sister. Ignore them. You’re not proposing to them! It’s beautiful and you chose it specially for her and that makes it so special. She will love it. This is between you and her and no one else.

Mr.Miller :  Your mom and sister didn’t give you any reason why you should take it back? In that case, it seems as if they are speaking with their opinion as if it will be your SOs opinion. If you feel like this is the ring for you, ignore what your mother and sister say and propose with it. If she loves you, she is NOT going to turn down the proposal because of the ring regardless. And I think that ring is quite lovely.
