Next week one of my friends and I are going to a show at a small venue for our favorite indie/hip-hop/rock band. Pretty damn excited.
I’m a HUGE music fan but haven’t been to a show in YEARS. I’m a mom and just haven’t had the time. I know this sounds stupid but I’m almost 30 and I have no idea what to wear anymore. I can tell ya what to wear to a job interview, a wedding, a date, etc, but I have no idea what to wear to a show. I don’t want to look like the “old lady chaperone” and I don’t want to look like the “old lady who is trying to hard to look young”. Yes, I know I’m not old, but I know there will be lots of younger people there.

@rubybride718: No judgement here: I appreciate folks that try to dress appropriately.
My standard “going-out” uniform is a nice pair of jeans, wedges/heels, a tank top (“wife beater”) with a little casual blazer over it 🙂

Can’t go wrong with a pair of nice jeans and boots! A casual blazer like PP said is always classic too!

I’m almost 30 and I know how you feel! I don’t try to dress younger though because I’ll feel stupid so I just wear what’s comfortable to me.
If it’s cooler weather I go with jeans, boots over jeans, a blazer or jacket and either a tank top or v neck shirt. If it’s nicer weather I’ll pretty much wear the same with different shoes and no jacket.

Phew! Looks like the jeans and boots I’ll def start with. I know there’s def a coat check at the venue and I know I have a couple black “beater” tanks that I can wear…

@rubybride718: I have purchased no less than 25 beaters since I started dating my boyfriend: he thinks they are THE sexiest top ever. No matter where we go, when I say “what should I wear” thats the FIRST thing he says. I cant explain it. Also, he’s 40 so I think that type of outfit caters to a nice age group 🙂

I’m a stay at home mom and my blazers keep me from being frumpy. They look great at every age and size and never go out of style.

@badabing88: Apologies for resurrecting an “older” thread, but where do you tend to buy your “beaters?” I’ve been looking…
