Anyone else who doesn’t like to go to a wedding, simply because people ALWAYS ask when ours will be?
We are a 40+ couple, 2 years together, living together over a year and recently our “friends” (mostly his side) started the idea that we should get married. We are not engaged yet and as far as I know, even that is not going to happen anytime soon.
I don’t care that much about getting married but this constantly asking irritates me!

I don’t think you’re going to get much agreement since this is a wedding site lol! Most people who are engaged, and some who aren’t, actually like being asked when they’re getting married! I know I do – it makes me feel like people actually care. Even when I wasn’t engaged people asked because we’ve been together so long. I guess it just doesn’t bother me.

@tisposeroperche: I personally dislike going to weddings. I have many reasons but I dont enjoy them. I have been asked repeatedly when I was getting married even when I was single because most people in my circle and family get married very young 18-20. I am not planning my wedding the Fiance is doing it but we are treating it more like a great dinner and dance party, going for drama and trying to keep any wedding traditions out of it.

@minted: Looks like we have the same idea: when the big day is there, I want to do it our way, without the traditions and only with the friends and family we want.

@tisposeroperche: I just don’t like weddings because they’re usually boring lol. And I am not one who likes small talk.
I guess it’s natural people will make conversation and ask that (you are at a wedding after all). I would try not to take it personally.

@tisposeroperche: Dude. Forget weddings. This is why I don’t like going ANYWHERE EVER. Lord help us if we go out with other (married) couples. Even my unmarried cousins are doing it now.

People are so rude. They shouldn’t be saying that to you. Next time tell them it’s your business, not theirs!
