I don't like my dress anymore and I am 8 weeks away from the wedding. :(

I’m so sorry you feel this way, bee. Have you tried adding a sparkly belt to see if that gives you the little extra something you may be looking for? Also, think of how different you’re going to look with hair/makeup/jewelry AND your veil (if you plan on wearing one).

I think your dress is elegant and lovely, but the most important thing is that YOU love it. If you feel like you need to find another dress in order to be happy with your wedding day look, you absolutely should.

Please don’t worry about wasting anyone’s time – this is their job! Believe me, they deal with their fair share of ACTUAL bridezillas 🙂 You are not one of them for simply not being happy with your dress. If you’re not taking the dress home with you, you shouldn’t need to pay for the rest of it.

Did they have you sign anything stating otherwise when you put down your deposit?

Have you considered wearing a long veil? You could get a veil with detailed lace or lace and beading and that would add more drama to the overall look.

I’m guessing you signed a contract? If so, your contract should state the purchase terms which is typically that you are obligated to pay the second half once the salon receives it.

Youre right – the back of the dress is gorgeous! Have you gone for alterations? I wonder if taking it in at the waist a bit will help you like it more? You have a gorgeous figure but it looks a touch too large.

Another thing – if you have it tailored so it fits closer to your waist, you could also wear a fit and flare crenoline under it to give some flow at the bottom. This will help create the illusion of curves (note how the dress has been flared out in the back picture, but not in the front one). It kind of defeats the purpose of a lightweight/easy breezy dress, but it wont hurt to try on and see if you like it.

I think you should make it work. You have just worked yourself into a negative mindset because you noticed one little detail and have focused on it too much. I bet there is something that you could do to it that would make it feel right again. Maybe you need a really nice necklace or a veil to complete the look. Frankly I think it looks amazing and clearly at one point you did too. You just need to step back and look at the big picture again.

I am not just saying this to make you feel better. I think you dress looks lovely! Honestly bee it would be a shame to replace this dress. If it were me I would make the dress fit tighter especially around the waist and if you want to sex it up then then why not pull it in at the knees and make it a mermaid silhoutte? I would also make the neckline a deeper V neck and add in breast fillers to show off your chest! wink

I had the same issue of loving the back of my dress but not the front but alterations can do wonders! Talk to your seamstress honestly – a good one can work magic on your dress!

Honestly do not sweat it Bee. Once you become done up with your make up and hair and with a veil you may change your mind. But ultimately it’s about how you feel in your dress.
