Be thankful it’s only $155.

I had to buy a $300 Vera Wang dress that I will never wear again. It was nice, and pretty, but it is definitely a bridesmaid’s dress so I could never wear it elsewhere.

ETA: I feel your pain. It’s part of being a good friend and a good bridesmaid.

Maybe you can donate it or sell it afterwards?

I was going to say the dress is really pretty then I realized the color… ouch. Yeah that would be a challenge to wear again. Can you convince her to maybe let you wear different shades of blue and you could be a nice dark navy?

I am not a big fan of that dress either but I have seen it A LOT recently in weddings. I have not been able to wear any of the dresses I have worn in weddings after the fact, part of being a bridesmaid.

I think that if it’s an issue of taste, you need to suck it up.  However, if it’s an issue of feeling uncomfortable in the dress (you have bad acne on you shoulders and really want to wear a shawl, sleeves, etc), then you should voice your feelings.

I think all BMs say they like the dress as long as they’re comfortable in it.  No one wants to upset the bride!

i had to pay $175 and then another $50 in alterations for a terrible dress that i will never wear again. i didn’t even keep it…i donated it afterwards. it was the love child of a bad 80s prom dress and an itchy 90s Bridesmaid or Best Man dress. it was an explosion of polyester. it had a train. it needed to be bustled. buttttttt…..what can you do (besides vent on the bee!)?? since DB Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses are pretty popular, maybe you’ll be able to sell it afterwards to some other poor Bridesmaid or Best Man who is also being forced to wear the same dress?

I’d be upset if I had to spend that much on a dress that I can NEVER wear again. Sorry Frown

It’s not a bad dress but I can see how it might make one uncomfortable. I love your outlook, though! That’s what the hive is for — a little grumbling here but a smile for your bride!

@PrncssDva: Feel free to vent about it on the bee ALL YOU WANT. Sounds like a lot of us have been there. Part of being a good friend.

@PrncssDva: I like the color. I may be biased because my BMs are wearing pool blue. I am not a fan of that dress, but I’ve seen worse. (I ended up selected the dress that could be worn different ways for my BMs).

Feel free to vent.
