Definitely talk to your doctor, like today!  I have migraines too and that sounds bizarre.  It probably was just a really intense headache but your head is important (and irreplacable) so you want to make sure everything is okay.

This does NOT sound normal to me at all! Spinning room, chills, ect! Talk with your doctor ASAP! Until then try to take it easy!

I hope you feel better!

Also I have vertigo. I have not had it act up in three years but when it does the room LOOKS like it is spinning. Literally I see the room spinning, I HATE it!

Do you think you could have vertigo?

I have chronic migraines, and that definitely doesn’t sound like a run-of-the-mill migraine to me.  I’d definitely try to get to the doctor as soon as you can and make sure it isn’t something serious.

Good luck, and feel better soon!

Please please please go see a doctor ASAP. This does not describe a typical migraine, it does however remind me of other conditions and I think you need to get checked out. If you cannot get in to see the doctor, please go to the ER.

That is definitly more intense than your average migrain, which are pretty intense themselves. Mine are usually gone after I sleep for a good chunk of time but yours got worse and traveled down your spine…not good, not normal. I would ask a doctor about it and have them check you out. Maybe a perscription would help the problem. Good luck, ouch!

I am a medical transcriptionist for an opthalmologist, and migraine patients see him all of the time. I think that due to the severity of your headache, it’s probably a good idea to talk to your doctor about referral to a neurologist.  A neurologist is better equipt to help isolate the reason for your headaches, hence a more effective treatment.

Hope that helps!

Feel better!!

Fiance gets TERRIBLE migraines. His hands and face go numb, he can’t see, he gets dizzy and extremely nauseous. He even wet himself and passed out the first time he got one (when he was a kid). He’s gone to the doctor and got scans/checkups/started a food journal. Medically, he checked out okay, so we’re still not sure what the trigger is, but at least we know it isn’t a problem in his brain.

The most important thing to do is see a doctor first to make sure everything checks out.

I almost wonder if it was a panic attack triggered by a migraine.

@SleepingWithNuns:   I would encourage you to go see a doctor before you take a nap.  I remember from the whole Brett Michael’s brain thing that all the doctors where saying if you have a abnormal headache to get help and not sleep.  Aparently if something is wrong, sleep can make it worse.

My Fiance gets horrible migranes as well. I have had to take him to the ER to get shots before. The doctors have always said if you get symptoms like you described to go straight to the ER. Some of the symptoms you listed can also be symptoms of an aneurysm. Please see your doctor soon. Take care.

@MrsFuzzyFace: I second this, don’t take a nap, head to any doctor, even if it’s the ER.

@SleepingWithNuns: Whoa, just saw you plan to take a nap–PLEASE DON’T.  Your symptoms are pretty close to those associated with an aneurysm or various other issues that cause changes in intercranial pressure and some with CSF.  Napping is a bad idea in any of those cases. Honestly, it could be nothing, but why chance it?
