Woooooow.  That’s pathetic.  How could ANYONE ever pass that off to someone on their wedding day?  They should be ashamed.

This is my biggest disappointment from my wedding. I am so stuck on how awful our cake looked. I’m at work right now and don’t have a pic of my inspiration or my actual cake but I will post it late. Everyone said it looked fine but IMO it was awful. It The circles were supposed to be made of fondant and they had a particular pattern to them (and they weren’t supposed to be on the entire cake) but she made them using the cake decorating squeeze tube and then she added frilly extras that were not supposed to be on it. My cake was supposed to be clean with a few polka dots but instead it looked like a childs bday cake. *sigh*  I’m still sad about it 5 weeks later.

it was ok. We had 4 flavors and we had the lemon cake when we cut it and it was super sweet but I was also not feeling well and didn’t eat much (nerves) so nothing really tasted good. I will say, I got what I paid for…my cake was only $120 for 200 people but when she tells me she can make the cake in the picture, that’s what I expect.

Wow, some of those are pretty bad!  I wonder if these people asked for pictures of the other cakes they had made in the past?

Mine TOTALLY did not come out like I expected either. Granted, I gave the ok for the shape change, and no real flowers, but the scrolls and vines didnt come out anything like expected.  And the little flowers instead of the beading was a surprise.

omg D: the first one made me want to vomit alittle bit. That is awful! I actually walked away from one bakery because I found all the photos from their book on the internet..so I guess they didn’t take them like they claimed and their birthday cakes didn’t look so hot so I just didn’t believe they could really make a nice cake. This post makes me so glad I did walk away.

And this is why we’re using Charm City Cakes aka the bakery from Ace of Cakes.

This is part of the reason we’re doing cupcakes! (And a cake to cut, but little to no detail on it, haha)

@Crabbabs: The “after” images all look like they were done by an amature in a home kitchen… I wouldn’t worry about it.
