- Wedding: July 2011
It’s true. I wake up in the morning with visions dancing in my head of the glorious decor by PB. He is to floristry what Versace was to fashion (may he rest in peace). For me he filled a void left behind by Versace in the world of haute couture. I was never in the segment of society that could afford his fabulous creations yet I loved to buy fashion mags just to look. I find it is the same with PB – I am strapped with a budget that could not even cover his retainer 🙂 and with a guest list of just 60.
Thankfully he was gracious enough to provide Martha Stewart with an interview where he kindly showed budget conscious brides how to create a simplified PB look with a limited budget. Martha put this out on a video that is rentable from most local libraries. So, I can definitely afford the accents that he showed with supplies from the dollar store and WalMart. Then came the shocker. To rent the most basic linens for our small event came out to a whopping $600. BUYING them came out to only $400 !?!?! Even that seems steep. After all this is not for the wedding itself but for a pre-wedding event (we’re skipping the bridal shower and bachelor night in favor of a Jack and Jill) Still we wanted something elegant. In short, I want Champagne but I can afford soda pop. Ughhh.
