Just wanted to share my experience.
It was our 10 year wedding anniversary and I wanted to upgrade my ring as it was not quite what I wanted when we got married and was the best we could afford at the time. Hubby in the interim got me a moissanite ring 1.5ct. I liked it at first but then ended up still wanting the diamond solitaire and also I felt 1.5ct looked too big and flashy on me.
Hubby was so kind and bought me this beautiful dream ring of mine which makes me feel so great and I don’t have that “upgrade urge” any longer. This is a 0.5ct solitaire.
This truly feels like “the ring” not too big, not too small. Unfortunately the moissanite even if it would have been the same size was not doing it for me. I think it’s gorgeous but I really wanted the diamond. Has anyone else been through this? I didn’t think I was going to be that person but I truly fell in love with this ring when I saw it and couldn’t stop thinking about it!
I now am satisfied and feel like this will be my style until I am old. I really just want this one to be it. No more upgrades.
Thank you for for letting me share and please feel free to share your upgrade especially UK bees!

i love the set its just like mine beautiful and classic forever ! I would love to have a diamond or even a lab but just couldnt ever justfiy the price even after owning my moissy for like over a year i thought oh maybe one day i could get a diamond or even a lab
but its just to much money and im kinda keen on getting different styles of moissy rings of course in WG like a 3 stone set and then of course keep my original and wear it or also exsperiment with a yellow gold set tooo
still sad tho that diamonds for me just dont work for me and my family personally (could afford one if we really wanted of course)- but i do love seeing everyones rings and those who are lucky enough to be able to spend that $ on a ring

Beautiful ring and happy anniversary!
I actually think upgrades are romantic because now when you look at your ring you’ll think of your 10 years together and your thoughtful husband who got you exactly what you wanted 🙂 Congrats!

When my fiance and started looking at rings, we looked at all the stone options: diamonds (mined and lab), sapphires, and moissanite.
We had talks about how this is the forever ring. He wanted to get it right the first time, so I wouldn’t want an upgrade. We talked about how no matter what, this would always be my nicest piece of jewelry. I didn’t know which stone he was going to choose, but in hindsight, it was clear.
He went the most traditional, with a mined diamond. I love my nearly flawless Earth made stone. I received moissanite earrings for my birthday, and they are gorgeous, but there’s something so nice about my forever ring.

I love your classic set! A beauty!

So beautiful and classic. I am a big supporter of smaller diamonds > moissanite. IMO finger coverage isn’t a concept that ranks high when I think of engagement rings. Wear your gorgeous set in good health!

motherbee33: your ring is beautiful (in the avatar)! I think Moissy is fantastic too. I don’t know why but my mind would not settle until I had this particular one. I like to wear all my sets and mix it up. I feel like sometimes I’m sentimental about my original set but then I like to mix it up to the upgrades and moissy.
harlequinade : yes I like your thinking. We decided this too now that this will always be the nicest piece of jewellery that I own. We got married young in uni and I was so happy he proposed I couldn’t wait to get married. I was happy to have any ring as a symbol.
- taylorlinsey : I love the thought that an upgrade is symbolic of looking back at the last ten years. That is lovely and I agree. Makes me feel lucky that my husband cares enough about me to get me something like this.
Thank you chitownyogini : yes finger coverage is not really my main priority. Now that I’m older I care about looking elegant and classy without conspicuously consuming. I don’t like large stones or anything that screams. I want to enjoy my ring for its beauty not its size. I don’t think I will ever get tired of a classic medium solitaire.
Thank you you all for your comments, I am so happy!

Gorgeous Supersleuth : I love it! I think 0.5 ct actually looks quite large (without being too much). It’s a sweet spot size!
I have been checking out rings on the tube in London and I noticed that those with huge rocks on average tend to also have stacks of love bracelets on their arm and logos on clothing and accessories. It feels a bit much to me but I guess that’s the style right now.

15yearslater : it’s gorgeous! Love the rich gold metal too! I have a diamond solitaire too (.49) see my avatar. I’m with you, simulants such as moissanite or cz are beautiful but there’s nothing like having the real thing! Congrats.

harlequinade : Its interesting to me how we all perceive things differently.
I would never want a diamond and love my moissanite ring – my forever ring. Nothing wrong with either choice but just interesting to me how we can all see it from such different perspectives.
