FedEx just tosses our packages up the stairs and drives away. It makes me bonkers.

I feel your pain, that makes no sense! I HATE FedEx with a passion, though. UPS or USPS are so much faster. Everytime I get tracking info for something I buy online and see it’s from FedEx, I just groan and expect to see it in like 2 weeks. Everytime I check on something, it’s been sitting in the same place not moving for like 3 or 4 days. Though I never saw it get farther away from me, that’s a new one!

I recently had something shipped to me from Oregon…and it went to California first. Still not quite sure what their thought process was on that.

Am I the odd one out who has consistently had better experiences with FedEx?

I live in an apartment building, and FedEx always leaves our packages with our neighbors, which is one less worry for us (our neighbors are trustworthy and very nice about it).

UPS on the other hand can’t always even be bothered to ring the bell to our place, let alone walk up our stairs to try to deliver our packages. They just leave the “sorry we missed you!” slip and are off on their merry way.

And don’t get me started on the USPS. We’re lucky if we even get our mail.

@Mrs.Mittens: I have Amazon Prime and am WAY too spoiled by free 2 day shipping!

The only shipping I’ve ever had trouble with was USPS b/c our apt # ended up cut off and rather than leaving the package with the front office (which they had to anyways since it didn’t fit in our mailbox) they sent it back to the sender immediately! Boy was that frustrating.

I do have to say that my favorite is DEFINITELY UPS but that may be b/c my mom’s UPS man was so great! He’d even bring candy, even MONEY once for DS, leave packages for us & once even moved one of our plants to the corner by the door so he could “hide” it. I can honestly say that since getting married and moving out 8 mths ago I’ve missed him everytime I’ve ordered something. lol.. our UPS guy here is okay but not very social. =/

Fedex is horrible!  I literally waited all day for a package once that I NEEDED, and the Fedex person did not even ring my bell/ buzz me in my apartment.  (WTF?)  How could I know they even came and tried to deliver it?  As far as I am concerned they never did.  Horrible company!

@runsyellowlites: Our UPS man is the pits, one of the “toss it and drive off” types, but I recently got a package through DHL and the guy was super funny and nice. Wish he could deliver all our stuff!

@cbee: Fedex has done that to me before too. They didn’t bother buzzing and just left a “sorry we missed you” note. It was my day off, I didn’t leave the house all day, and our bathroom is right next to our intercom, so I would have heard if they had buzzed while I was answering the call of nature. No buzz! I was really pissed off.

@linguo42:  I’m in Oregon & ship to Canada for work all the time. All UPS & USPS orders to Canada go to California because its the main hub or something. Actually I think all international orders from Oregon go through Cali. I know this because so many customers ask me why it went to Cali & ask if I sent it to the right place!

Sometimes they mess up. Once they accidentally shipping it to the wrong state & then back here. Just got placed on the wrong truck. But sometimes its just the system they have set up. Too bad they couldn’t just call you & see if you wanted to pick it up since it was so close!

Don’t even get me started on shipping companies. My enagagement is on hold until UPS delivers my package. We ordered the ring weeks ago. Then, UPS decided that they didn’t recognize my SO’s work address (which is in a large building that receives packages ALL the time), and returned it to the sender without even notifying us! We had to wait for it to make it back to the sender so they could ship it out AGAIN. They sent it out on Tuesday via 2nd Day Air. Apparently 2nd Day Air means 5th Day Air (yes, I’m only counting business days) because the estimated date of arrival is Monday. So much for getting engaged before the holidays…
