kittemae1990 :  When I first read your post, I thought the theme was overdone, too much, and not really weddingesque. However, after reading how you first met your Fiance, I’m full support for the abundance of all things unicorn. That’s one of the sweetest first meeting stories I’ve ever heard. Go for it, and enjoy your wedding!

I love it.  Would *I* do it for my wedding?  No, but I also wouldn’t do a color-themed wedding and that’s super common–we all have our styles, just do what makes you happy.  So long as your guests are comfortable and fed they’d be real assholes not to be delighted.

I love your story because my husband and I first got together at a Halloween party where I was a unicorn too! Honestly I think your wedding sounds like a blast and you should go for it! Some people may think it’s “tacky” but who cares? It’s not their wedding.

I’d keep the unicorn cake topper but change the favor cookies and cupcakes. Don’t make the cookies unicorn shaped, do a different shape and maybe blue and purple icing. For cupcakes, I’d ask the baker to do white icing with blue or purple edible pearls. Those two things probably have not been made yet and can still be toned down a notch. Love your story!!! So cute!

I would try to incorporate more tones like this and shimmer than say horses with horns. I think your theme is possible to pull off but tough for sure

kittemae1990 :  I think you should also specifically explain to your guests the significance of unicorns to you two, maybe a little “Our Story” card at the table settings or near the centrepieces. The circumstances of your meeting are really cute and I don’t think you can rely on everyone to remember it or know about it. as a guest it would make a theme wedding much more appealing to know there was some meaning behind it and not just “we heart unicorns”.

Unicorns? Now pandas are sounding totally classy.

Idk, seems more like a children’s party to me.  I’d tone it down a little.

kittemae1990 :  Ok the fact that you were dressed as a unicorn when you met is cute AF and I say go alll in on the unicorns. It’s your day and it sounds super cute! We have nick names for each other (Red) Panda and Rocket (Raccoon) we have red panda and racoon matching tatoos, our cake topppers were a red panda and a racoon etc. so I dig it. Our daughter I associate with birds and we have a million bird things now. lol

I effing love it bee – it’s unique and crazy and sounds so fun. I want to come.

You know what’s really rude tho?? Talking about your fabulous sparkly unicorn wedding on weddingbee and then not inviting the bees. Talk about a breach of etiquette!

kittemae1990 :  sounds like too much – like a little kid’s bday party. Let’s put it this way…Themes are often overboard when the couple DOESN’T think they are – so if you do think you’re overboard, you most certainly are.
